friday night

Saw Zombieland. Was awesome.
Then I spent the night on the interwebs- me and Heather over skype talking about we're doing for our 18th birthdays, which are 4 days apart, she's the 4th and I'm the 8th. In a fit a rebellion, I want to go and buy some cigarellos. Wacha. And then, being random and bored, I sent her the link to a quiz, what Beatles slash pairing are you, and she got John/George (I got John/Ringo, which is, yah, my fav.) and so, jokingly, I sent her the link to the John/George slashfic site, and then a half an hour later she says: omg i love john/george. She is awesome for actually reading it-she doesn't really listen to the band much I guess (in fact, when we put up pics in our locker-all mine were Beatles or Sinatra or Bowie, and she was like, who ARE these people? and then one time she was like, "Oh i watched an episode Anthology last night, NOW I know the Beatles are." -twitch- Anyway, here's what I'm reading now, so myself doesn't go and lose these links cos I dun wanna bookmark them on my da's computer. This one where Paul time travels and this Zombie one and this sort of Mary Sue-ish story that's alright and this site has some links and places to find more.

today

No school or anything again, so here's what I did today:
woke up and thought, hm this is weird, and checked the mail.
Got two cds in the mail.
Took a shower.
Got dressed.
then ripped the cds (Anthology 3 and Flaming Pie) to the computer while eating a scone and drinking Sprite.
Synced the new music to my iPod
started listening to Anthology 3 while knitting, but then I got distracted by the knitting
so I put my knitting away and just lay on the couch and listened to Anthology 3.
which was gorgeous.
and now I'm tired
and I still haven't brushed my hair
but I am wearing socks and it is very cold
so the sock thing is very important. Where are my slippers from last winter I wonder? I am still so cold. and there's nothing to do oh except knit, i think I will knit. I'm doing these armwarmers- and hold on, I'm making the pattern up as I go along and so I've saved it on this computer but since I'm switching families this weekend I won't be at it so I'll put it here so I can see it again-
"Armwarmers-10/2
cast on 44 on size 7 needles
work in rib for so-in-so many rows,
then in stockinette for like 12, then do k2tog every 12
so far
yah
then knit one row and then decrease ever 11 then knit one row and keep doing that i think"

I was all alone in the house last night--I didn't have any wild parties. I ordered a pizza and the most daring thing I did was I wore a sweatervest to bed. It was deliciously warm.

magical mystery tour-what?

Bored and alone, I found Magical Mystery Tour on youtube, a made-for-TV Beatles movie from 1967. It is trippy. And weird. And...doesn't make much sense. But has some good musics (Blue Jay Way, I Am the Walrus, Fool on the Hill) and some funny John randomness and Paul dorkiness (Your Mother Should Know (another PaulIsDead "clue" in that one, apparently, cos Paul is wearing a black flower and the others, a red one, so clearly y'all is totes dead.)) At one point- they're in this bar and there's a strippper and a band onstage and, really, Beatles, a stripper?--anway, the band is singing this song, Death Cab for Cutie. AND GUESS WHAT. There's a band called that. Named after that song/scene. Some indie band-formed in this state, too, Washington. Interesting. Unlike Fall-Out Boy, these guys apparently know where the name of their band comes from- Fall Out Boy does not, and it comes from an episode of The Simpsons. Fail, Fall Out Boy. Win, Death Cab For Cutie.

So i am bored. I ordered a pizza. Lamely. And only ate a few pieces. Really? I just kinda wanted the Dr Pepper that came with it. Sigh. MMT was a weird movie did I mention? Paul's sweatervest was BA though. I want all his sweatervests all the time-srsly, their clothing, is awful, and I want it. I love the Walrus video. John looks like he's having so much fun. And George being adorable. Not enough George! in it whatsoever, he's got a few lines and he does Blue Jay Way very creepily (it's an eerie song, there's a fog upon LAaaaa..) and when they're wizards, one of them says:What's next on the agenda? and George, straight at the camera: A SONG! and Ringo is clearly high throughout this thing, but it's Ringo so he always looks high. Ahah. So all I need to watch now- in terms of Official Beatles Movies- is Let It Be. And in Non Official Beatles Movies, there's The Hours and Times, Birth of the Beatles, Backbeat, Two of Us, Nowhere Boy, and a bunch others, I think, those are the ones I wanna see though. Oh! and whatever movies John and Ringo starred in- John was in How We Won the War or something, I neeed to see it, and Ringo I guess did random bit parts of things..

Today, I mentioned to Blake something about Pattie Boyd, George Harrison's first wife, left him for Eric Clapton or something- cue my brother going "ERIC CLAPTON. REALLY. SHE DITCHED HIM FOR ERRIIIIC CLAAPTON." he seemed to think this was unbelievable. "OF ALL THE RANDOM FAMOUS PEOPLE HE IS SURROUNDED BY- ERIC CLAPTON. " Dhani Harrison- George's son- is about his clone, I think. Honestly. also he's pretty adorable- and I should listen to his music sometime, mhm Dhani Harrison.
I get crazy sad whenever I read anything about John's death- and so angry at that sonofabitch who shot him. HOW. WHY. John Lennon-how could you KILL him? yes he was a dick and hyprocrite sometimes- but a musical genius and argh, see, Jesus, it's worthless getting upset over.

hello, afternoon

Suddenly, it is like 4 something and I didn't even notice. I was knitting. And now it's 4:15. Day? maybe not wasted. I have a yellow hat that is funky-looking and a bit too big for my head.

Today I also found, or rather got around to finally listening to, BEATALLICA. Which is a band who mixes Beatles and Metallica songs and oh yeah they are FRIGGING AMAZING and awesome and kinda my new favorite band now. ALL YOU NEED IS BLOOD. And like that.

My feet, they are cold. I have to go about town for alive after 5 but I'm not, like, majorly looking forward to it cos there's like, people out there and I'd have to put shoes on and stuff, and oh I've got Great Yarns tonight, too, that'll be fun. I love hanging out with the knitters/crocheters. Which usually is just me and Mary and sometimes Heather. A little lonely.

The yarn I dyed last night- so I first did grape and it turned out awful, truly, just pretty bad, color wise and it didn't even dye all the way through. So I put some red KoolAids I had- fruit punch and black cherry, I think- in with it and zapped the yarn a few more times, now it's this kind of purple/red mottled color, it's very nice. Not sure what to make with it though? I'm starting some armwarmers with this stuff I dyed ages ago, sorta a pink/red, and I'm guessing the pattern as I go but I'll have to learn something when it comes around to the thumbhole, since these are on DPNs.

Borrreedd. hnn. I will have to change my pants before Alive After Five. And find some shoes. Combat boots or Cons? not Beatle Boots. Although. Well. Maybe Beatle boots. I could pull them off. I look ridiculous in them-but they sound wonderful, this nice clik-clak, heel-toe sort of thing, and I feel spectacular in them. Boots do wonders for confidence. But my poor heels- blisters, all the time, or pre-emptive BandAids.

Oh hello, thank you Amazon. I looked up Beatallica and it reccomends someone called Lez Zeppelin. They're an all-female Led Zeppelin cover band. AWESOME. My new heroes. I want to start a- oh, this here is my secret unattainable dream- all-female Beatles cover band. Yeah. I know. It's ridiculous but there are none and I really want to but I can't play an instrument or sing, really, but has that ever stopped anyone? I secretly really want to do this but nobody knows and, sigh,
Holy shit, Beatles cover band 1964- epic. I'm watching one of their videos and they have them down- down to the way John stands as he plays his guitar and the way George taps the beat with one foot, then the other, on and off like that.

Later, 8:30: At times like this- I wish I had some real-life real friends. Since I'm completely fucking alone. Blake is at his friends house and I'm home, so terribly alone. And heartbroken and alone, did I mention so. fucking. alone? Maybe pizza will make this better. I doubt it. Fuck. SO bored and lonely.

in retrospect

Here we've got today and tomorrow off school and at first I was like, oh yayyy fuck and yes, sonsofbitches. Now. There's uh, nothing to do. Srsly. At 5, there's Alive After 5. And since I dyed yarn last night, I have nothing. TO DO. Except layabout in pajamas and knit.

Scifi has Tales of the Darkside on. And it's really cold. And my mom is gone. ;( There's nothing to doooo.

I keep telling my mom I wanna Snuggie for my birthday-which is in a week. I cannot help imagining how awesome and warm it will be. THINK ABOUT IT. I'm cold but I want to play Rock Band- SNUGGIE! Knitting and freezing-SNUGGIE! Oh that's all I got. But now I've remembered what I want to do today: ROCK BAAAND.

not doing schoolwork

This is what I do instead of work at school.

30 September 2009

really frigging bored

It is cold enough for long sleeves and sweatervests. I like sweatervests. Mhmm, warm.
Today after school I walked down to St. Vinnie's. Bought a book by Al Franken on how evil Republicans are. Yay. And at Jo-Ann's I bought some natural-colord Paton's wool COS IT IS DYEING TIME. I HAVE RESISTED THE URGE FOR TOO LONG. And I bought some lime-green soft acrylic stuff that was on SALE and some size 7 dpns because a) i has no size 7 dpns b) i think I will make some armwarmers so I need some dpns and c) i had a coupon I needed to use so, yah, dpns. Instead of saying, dee-pee-enns, I have taken to pronouncing the letters, so it sounds like 'duhpins.' Yeah so I'm bored. And at teh grocery store I bought Grape KoolAid, for dyeing, at the ridiculous high price of 3/1.00. srsly. and some chicken strips, for Secret Dinner. Hello Secret Dinner. MWAHAH.

I keep getting distracted..I need to start by Doctor Who scarf what yarn cost sooo much, and then get to work on the little Beatles amigurumi I want to do. Using this pattern to make the bodies, then embellishing and whatnot afterwards. And I haven't decided what costumes yet. Like Ed Sullivan suits, all boring and grey and hair cuts, or Sgt. Pepper with the colors and the telling-them-apart and facial hair? I look forward, not, to stitching all that hair.Ah well. Mhm. Anyway..
