aw damn

At dad's. It sucks. Well because of the usual being left alone bit, right, I'm tired of it but no way around it, really. Also he won't take me to get Harry Potter tickets. Damn. Fuck. I'm knitting my tie, ordered some socks (they better be here), have Quidditch goggles, have skirt, need shirt, and am gonna make a ribbon/hair/bow/headband thing with Gryf colors. Should be all right.
My heart's been acting up lately. Jesus. This should be the 'many injures of AJ' blog now. There's an accidental bruise on my leg that's just turned a lovely yellow/purple mix, and Vincent Van Gogh won't come off my arm. An er temp. tattoo of him anyway. He's mostly off now. It's not really an injury though. Just sort of annoying.

I've been playing a lot of Sims 3. Check my other blog...I think it's http://these-are-my-sims.blogspot.com/ for the Legacy I've started. I'm gonna post it after I'm done here. I loove it. Last week I was all, argh I has to go to my father's soon then I remembered the Sims 3 and got all excited.

I don't think my dad likes me because I am smart. I mean. I'm not like uber-smart, but I am clever, if I do say so myself (and I do) and also I tend to ramble off facts. Like the Coors light one. Or the Van Gogh Didn't Cut Off His Own Ear one. I think it annoys him his only daughter is a weird, smart, Harry Potter- (and other strange things-) obsessed, no-friended ('cept for Heather (hi Heather)), sort-of-tomboyish, t-shirt-wearing freak. Who knits and crochets. And wears bows and ribbons. I don't care.

Today Dad and Blake and Sandy went to the beach and I was all, ergh beach, so instead Dad gave me money to get lunch and so I wandered down to Jo-Ann's (bought duct tape for a duct-tape purse and red and gold ribbon) then called Heather, we met up at McDonald's, then headed to Starbucks. We decided we shouldn't watch Harry Potter 5 and knit our scarves so we did. I liked 5. But 2 and 6 are my favorite books. 2 because awesome, right? and actually, I used to freakin' love 3 before the movie ruined it for me. The movie was awful. And 4 and 5 were always very moody and angsty and in 6, he's not nearly as angry and hate-filled. Harry, I mean. 6 is interesting.

Ok right now I'm posting my Legacy, so read if you want, I don't give a damn.

evening.

Right now I'm at this blogging workshop at my local library, where I work, awesomely. There are 4 people here. And one of them is my boss, who organized this. And another is the guy, an English prof, who's running it or something. Teaching. Teaching the wonders of a blog. I don't know his name. But his beard is impressive.
Heather's here, too, sitting next to me and makin' her blog. I think. No, wait. She isn't. She's on some writerly website that English dude told her to go on and God only knows why she's still on that site, since that was like 5 minutes ago.
I hate Internet Explorer. So. Much. I get so used to Firefox at home and at dad's, and then I get on this library computer and there's lazy Internet Explorer what doesn't spell check my things, and, since this a outdated version, no tabs. How am I supposed to live without tabs? HOW. I ASK OF YE.
Today I was reading this book, Daughter of Fortune, I picked it up at a library book sale, and I opened it up and a picture fell out. Of some girl. It was weird. It's a good book, though, so far, although the writing style is kind of bugging me, at first it was being told from the future-like, and the third-person nararrator was all reminscing and stuff and look, without Mozilla Firefox I am nothing. I have no actual skills at spelling, just a handy add-on. Anyway, then the book stopped doing that. Got better.
I'm at my father's this weekend. Which means Sims 3 and good food. As far as I can tell, the two only very good things at my father's. Basically- we wander through the store and I go, cookies we need cookies! and string cheese and this and if you buy a cake mix i will make cupcakes and blake likes these and WE NEED MUFFINS. Peach muffins. Onnomnom.
My sock crocheting is going strangely, to say the least. It's guesswork mostly. Is this big enough, how many stitches here, should I switch to hdc? It's a bit big. I do not want to frog all of it, though, it's sock weight yarn with a 3.25 hook and it's going along nicely enough. I hope it will get a better fit, I think this happened the last time I crocheted a sock. Then again. That didn't turn out well. I'm just killing time writing, I think.
Mom's out of town this weekend, out in Yakima, then to Seattle, to run the Seattle Rock 'n Roll Marathon. Kick some ass. Every mile they have a band set up and they play music for the runners. Sounds cool. 'cept for the running thing.
Jesus Christ, Michael Jackson died. Bad things happen in threes. Celebrity deaths. Been saying this for years. This week- McMahon, Fawcett, and Jackson. Last time it happened, John Ritter, Johnny Cash and some other dude, I forget his name. John Ritter was funny. He was on an episode of M*A*S*H, very early, like Season 1. When M*A*S*H was good. Now, I am literally just typing anything what comes to mind.
My fingernails are colored. I didn't paint them or anything, stuck my fingers in a watercolor set at work today. Yes. My job is that exciting. Also today I drew a chalk line on the ground. My favorite part of work putting the papers out. We get the newspapers in the morning and I always get to them first, sort them, and then go put them out. Smell of newspapers is intoxicating.
Type type type. Heather is a loud typer. Jesus. What a novelist.
These socks I am making, I think I will make them Not Ankle Socks. I'll have to finagle (HOW DO I SPELL FINAGLE!? EFF YOU IE.) a cuff onto them somehow. Ribbing is tricky with crochet. Knitting, it's easy. Knit 2 purl 2. Repeat. Crochet, it's double crochet into back loops and then turn it sideways. For ribbing. Maybe not worth it.
I am like tired. Unexplicably. I don't do much really.
Do you know what I hate (besides most everything and people and I hate bees, I really do) is when people ask me, what're you going to do with your life? I used to be worried about this. I used to care. Now, I say gleefully, "I have no idea. None whatsoever. I don't care." I don't.
My wrists are hurting now, grrr. Tagging now.

ravelry is not dorky

Heather (aka BFF) came over to help me with my Brave New World Essay and for that I owe her. My first shirt.woot (http://shirt.woot.com/) came in the mail, On the Prowl, which is sooo epic and Heather was in awe. Woot! Anyway, she helped me write the essay and now all I have to do is "read" Emma and do the reader's response for it and one for Slaughterhouse-5. By "reading" Emma, I mean, there's this cool website called shmoop.com that's like sparknotes with a sense of humor and a lot more info. And after that, I have to write an analysis on Emma if I feel like it but I'm sure I could do that in my aide class if needed. I have a friend who's already done reader's response to SH-5 so I borrowed those and will glean info from that.
Then Heather hung around a while and then I got on the computer and got on ravelry, where she proceeded to laugh at me for being on a yarn/knitting/crocheting/craft site. This is a girl who writes hardcore anime/manga fanfiction and was the girl who taught me how to crochet in the first place!? Admittedly-she taught me just the single stitch and by the next week I was making amigurumi and double-crocheted hats with ear flaps. She's super jealous of my skills yo. Anyway, she called me a dork for being on rav., and then for doing this Book RAK thing and then she left because she has to go read Pride and Prejudice. Haha, good luck with that.
On Tuesday, we went to THE REPTILE MAN! Some guy from a reptile zoo near Seattle came and did, like, an hour show at the elementary school. 'show' means he held up snakes and lizards and told us about them. At one point he mentioned something about reptiles walking on two legs and I was all, Dick Cheney? I saw this shirt one time, it said, Dick Cheney Puts the Vice in Vice President. Lols.
Oh, back to Emma and how ridiculous she is.
I'm sick of not getting Tv Guide and I have to look it up on the net.

high school est stupido

Re: Stupid signs at my high school.
"GO GET EM'." Nothing obviously wrong with this. 'cept for the wrong aprostrophe placement. Friend Heather was pissed about this one more then the next. I was leaning towards this one as the worst...
"WRESTELING: WEDNESDAY." At first I thought this said "WRESTLEING." Which is slighter more forgivable. Like, wrestle with an ing. verb + ing = CONJUGATED. It's a foolproof formula. But WRESTELING? That's not...close. At all. It's unforgivable. When I saw this I lost faith in humanity. It's cliched, but true.
Waiting for the new shirt.woot, although it's probably already up and I am delaying gratification.
Quantum Leap is ruling my liiiife. I finished the first season last night...or today? No, last night, because I was up late crocheting a penguin and was too lazy to switch the disk and so I turned on TV Land (where a season 9 or 10 or 11 M*A*S*H epi was on and I will bet you one hundred dollars it was written and directed by Alan Alda. Because it was all about Hawkeye. Fuhreals. Some girl dies and he has to do the eulogy and he spins it around to make it about him. Shut up, Alda.) Back to QL.
Season One is only 9 episodes, since it was a midseason replacement. It ended with Sam leaping into 1951 or 60 as a woman. Well, it just showed up in a girly bathtub and some girl's like, Samantha, you need to get ready, Miss Executive Secretary. But the second season picks up, Sam's a fireman and Al's trying to convince the "Board" for the Project not to axe the project. Apparently, no one believes Sam is leaping through time since Al's the only one who can hear/see him and no one believes Al. Bwahah. Anyway, Sam then leaps (two leaps an epi, yay!) into the body of Some Guy on a Honeymoon and then he has to save his bride and fix the future, blah, anyway. My problem is that the Season One ender had him leaping into someone else! And then, then...the Disco Inferno one, I thiiink...no, it was The Americanization of Machiko, at the end, had him leap back to Jesse, the black guy from Season 1. And then, the next episode, they picked up with him being Miss Samantha the Secretary...
I think it's the DVDs. Flipping DVDS. Anyway, Sam-as-a-girl was amusing. Al, who sees Sam as everyone else sees him - some bodacious bod (holy shit holy shit why did I just say 'bodacious'?) and Al's like, in love with him. As I say this I know it will seem sarcastic but I'm not, it was hilarious. Scott Bakula in dresses and heels was fucking funny, too. Err...I can't remember the other episodes on this disk. Machiko, which was good about Sam as a Navy sailor who comes back from Japan with a Japanese wife and his hick town and hick mom and the hick repairman are pissed off and racist. Reminded me of my brother Kody, who's in the Navy and wants to go to Japan to "get himself an asian wife." Lols Kody. Oh another one was Disco Inferno where Sam's some stunt guy in the 70's. Sub-par. The best part was the part where they were watching 70's SNL because 70's SNL was good.
Things to do-
1. Make a dragon ami for Heather.
2. Spend fifth hour learning how to play Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock with Heather.
3. QUANTUM LEEEAAAP.
