woah

Like I haven't updated in foreverrr
'cos like I've been on deviantart and so like kind of neglecting this blog over here
and my computer crashed a few weeks ago, that was pretty annoying.
BUT LIKE YEAH.
OH GOSH. Ringo Starr. is going on tour. And is coming to a place called Woodinville, Washington. WHICH IS LIKE 6 HOURS AWAY FROM ME. I HAVE TO GO. I need to see a Beatle before they all die! And Paul's in Europe! And Ringo's turning like 70. THIS COULD BE HIS LAST TOUR EVER and that would be tragic. Anyway. So I am trying to convince my mom or dad to buy me tickets but I should get a job and earn my own money and all that, haha, but I did hint around that tickets would make GREAT graduation presents. Since the concert is in July. So I hope that works out.

Agh I'm bored. At dad's. Nothing to do except lay around or kill time on the computer and download bootlegs onto dad's computer because free music=<33 Maybe the Stones or some Tom Petty. Or Traveling Wilburys. Who I listened to last night. They're pretty goddamn awesome.

in ukulele news

I like to think I'm getting better but I know I'm not but I think I actually am because instead of singing along with Imagine today, I just played the chords and it sounded like Imagine. or close enough anyway. and same with Something. and I'm really liking playing I Wanna Hold Your Hand, but, err lamely I reallyreallyreally like to play It Don't Come Easy.by, yes, Ringo Starr. back off (boogaloo!) he's pretty awesome.

I was like, MOM I WILL SERENADE YOU and she was like, MAKE ME HOT CHOCOLATE THEN SERENADE ME. I did Imagine and Something and I Wanna Hold Your Hand for her (last night, over Skype, I did It Don't Come Easy and Liverpool 8 and other random songs for Heather) and besides the fact I suddenly got very nervous, singing-wise (which is weird because I will sing anything anywhere and anytime. we were leaving McDonald's yesterday and I was singing HEY JUUDE DON'T MAKE IT BAAD...under the assumption nobody else was around in the parking lot but in fact the McD's guy was right behind us. and today I was talking to H walking to class and we brought up the Lion King and I broke out in song, EVERYONE SAYING DO THIS! and she didn't break out in song with me so I was like, argh hoffman what the hell.) and so I was just mumbling the words and blushing and trying to get my chords right.

So there's a show on in a half hour called How the Beatles Rocked the Kremlin on PBS or something. It's got Beatles in the title so I'm for defs watching it.

And try to learn If I Fell on the uke. It's got a lot of tricky chords.

also today was the first meeting of our CHS knitting/crochet club, which actually is overwhelmingly crochet. irks me. I know I started out a crocheter and bitched about knitting but honestly, I think I'm more a knitter now, I haven't used a crochet hook in weeks. Well, wait, I tell a lie. I used to crochet hook to save a dropped stitch while knitting. Yep. Anyway. The german teacher, an English teacher, and the librarian were there- and some little frosh boy who crochets and loom-knits and so I ran off to get H. so I could even out the teacher/student ratio since it was leaning rather annoyingly to the teacher side. it was fun 'cept I'm a doofus and forgot my goshdarn yarn so I just sat there and was like, yes I knit I just...forgot my stuff.

and I finished another ipod sock (did I mention I made on, yes, no? i did. i made another.) and I made one for H., too, since she asked and needs ones. it's like a little pocket with a button, the button is a robot. like mine, my first one had a button-robot. robot-button. hnn.

mhmm I have Cheezits party mix which is like cheezit chex mix so ti's pretty awesome. and dr pepper. and a ukulele and yarn and i am in general, pretty content except I have to go to school tomorrow. ergh. also I am getting sick. with the cold or something.

I totally half-assed my way through an English test today. it was a strange feeling. mhm. is beowulf a static or dynamic character? mhm as you can see from this here quote he does not change at all tha end.

I've looked at my priorities in life lately and here's what I've found:
1. music.
  • The Beatles. this includes but is not limited to: George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Sean Lennon, Julian Lennon, Dhani Harrison, whatever band Zak Starkey is in lately (the Who, I think)
  • other music: the Who, Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Bowling for Soup, etc.
2. my ukulele- this should go under 1, technically.

So those are the main two things that are keeping me alive, lately. Like I'll be having a hell of a time in school or just a terrible day and then I'll think, oh. Paul McCartney exists. I'm alright. Or I'm so dead tired I just want to pass out in bed but I'll go I should try and learn the beginning bit for Imagine spot on...
Also, knitting and yarn and all that.
Today I said to my mom, "Mom, I should tell you that when I'm not in school, I'm the happiest I've ever been." I really hate school. It's soul-numbing and oppresive and evil and fuck the man, dude. christ. I hate just writing about it, it makes me sad...
okay, back to my uke and then watching that Beatles thing. :D

sidenote: singing Liverpool 8, it's hard not to burst out laughing at the really cheesy lyrics. but i love Ringo.

ringo love

I can't help it, I love Ringo Starr.
I'm on itunes right now trying to convince myself NOT TO BUY ALL HIS ALBUMS but it's really hard. So'm just getting some songs- I Think Therefore I Rock and Roll, Snookeroo, The No No Song, Back off Boogoloo. The good stuff. Will not buy everything. Grr. Trying hard. I don't know what's come over me all of a sudden, this crazy Ringo love. Suddenly, that afternoon, an unexpecting teenage girl...
...
wow.
That was...weird. It was like 'suggestions?' at the top and (usually it's something ridiculous like Elton John) but it recomended John Lennon's How do you Sleep? and I was like, oh, BUY. Very quick. And too easy. Eep.

so yah

today I wore my beatle boots and my Bob Marley shirt I got random from teefury. In German, Mrs H was like, 'oohh i like your boots, those are fun'. Fun? Oh well. Compliments are compliments. Anyway. And actually. They are fun. She is total awesome though because for some reason she really likes me and here are my theories on that a) i was already in 2 years of French b) i am also a huge beatles fan c) i am awesome. I think it's some combo of 1 and 2. Or er. A and b. And so. Uh...what..was I saying? well yeah so she never really calls on me, seriously, it's very cool. But today we were learning hobbies and things and one of them was like 'listening to rock music' and I was like, gah call on me for that one. She did. And then asked me if I liked 'alt rockmusik?' and because I like totally blanked for a minute I was like, what? then, OH, yes, old music, YES. The student teacher who laughed at my dinosaur was back today. he was sick for a while I guess. I like him.

Listening to David Bowie. He's so funky. I love him. Oh! Starman! There's a starrrmaaan...

Nothing else exciting so like why do I even bother.
I was on time to school today. WTF, right? And worked throughout all first hour. and went to all my classes, holyshit.
OH my knitting and crochte club is tonight! Great Yarns. Should be pretty friggin exciting. I dunno, I just LOVE to get together with people who understand me when I talk of worsted weight and purling and straights and circs and GAUGE and all that. Me and another woman there, (my boss from the summer) always get into glaring arguments over what we call crochet hooks- I call them by the numbers and she uses the letters. Like I'll call it an size 6 hook and she'll be all, IT'S A G. I'm gonna teach H to knit a hat, too. I was like, GET WOOL YARN. It's warmer that way. I love wool. When it's cold. Can't stand it in the heat. but around now I am like, ohh so sofft and warm. Thank you, sheep. You guys are awesome. Dumb as rocks. But very cool...I haven't met a lot of sheep myself. I have a friend who's got sheep. And she's like: they're stoopid. Me: YR STUPID.

later, 5:30: I was listening to a Bob Dylan album. The Freewheeling bob Dylan. Amazing. Blake, at one point, from across the room, 'are..are you listening to Bob Dylan?' 'er, yes.' 'i..can hear the harmonica.' 'lol!' Now I'm listening to Ringo Starr. I can't help it. I friggin' love the guy. I Think Therefore I Rock and Roll? Goodnight Vienna? AWESOME.
Also, Keith Moon did an album and Ringo Starr was on a few tracks- HOW DID THEY NOT STAR THEIR OWN BAND CALLED liike 'Moon and Starr'? ohrite cos Keith died but STILL. WHYY. I want Ringo's christmas album. Crazy bad. I want all of his albums? he's so cheery and happy-looking all the time. I guess a lot of fans hate him for the 'don't send any more fan mail' thing which yes was a dick move but still. Ringo!

shaaame

I'm still pretty sick but I got medicine, some cold stuff and it's alright but I still feel awful.

I still went shopping today w/ mom. We got coffee flavors and at St. Vinnie's, I bought some glow in the dark stars and then when she went grocery shopping, I went next door to Hastings, promising myself to not buy any books. I saw a pretty neat Beatles one and didn't work up the nerve to ask someone to help me find In His Own Write but I looked at music, there was some George Harrison stuff and Paul and John, all the Paul ones were used and cheap, ha, but there was only ONE Ringo Starr album and it was marked down to 2.50. Time Takes Time. Of course I bought it. I was this close to buying a Paul McCartney one, too, but, eh.

I came home and Blake was all, whadja buy and I'm like, don't..don't laugh at me, Blake, i'm ashamed of my purchase. He was also amused by the 2.50 thing. God, we spend hours joking about Ringo Starr. Uh, we had a good one. I was telling him about a book Ringo had, (also about how I cannot find any biography on Ringo Starr- I can find them on John&George quite easily, they're dead, and there's even a few on Paul for godsake but no Ringo ones, hmm) where he had put postcards that the other Beatles sent him into book form, and he wrote captions to them and stuff. I told Blake of this book, and he was like, 'wait, did they go places and LEAVE him there? or did he just like, forget to come? is one of the postcards 'dear ringo-you missed the plane. having fun w/out you. from george' or whatever? what the hell.' One of our running jokes is that Ringo Starr was just stoned all the time. 'what's a beatle?' 'i play drums?' ' Cos of okay, I read this thing where it listed all the celebrities/famous folk on the Sgt. Pepper cover, and I was just skimming it, mostly John and Paul had picked them, and gave reasons, and George chose some and there were some quotes, and Ringo had said: "I don't remember it, really, I must've been there. I was in the picture.." something along the lines of that. We're like, wth, Ringo was so stoned he doesn't remember it, that's hilarious. Uhh...lost of train of thought now...Ringo. Oh, right. We want to make shirts that say 'poor ringo' or something like that. Haha. Continually, we quote that scene from the Dewey Cox: Walk Hard movie, which has a ridiculous title but is a pretty hilarious movie. 'I've got a song about an octupus' "ringo" says, and "John" says, 'Jam it up your ass, you're lucky we still let you play drums' and there's a lot of good jokes in it, like when John (played by Paul Rudd) says to Paul (Jack Black, lol) "i wonder if your songs will still be shit when I'm sixty-four..."

anyway, we do spent a lot of time playing Beatles Rock Band. The best thing about it is, well I'm not video-gamey but Blake is, and it's cool cos it doesn't bother me when he plays it cos it's awesome music.

So I knitted my mom a hat for her birthday and now I like knitting hats, i'm agonna knit everyone for christmas, yayy

mhmm right now I'm singing 'Chains' by yeah, the beatles, is it George that sings Chains I think?

the beatles rock band, i am needing it

It doesn't matter I've never played a game like that before or that I technically don't even own that game console or that it's 140 bucks or any of those, really, I need the Beatles rock band. I'm going to ask my mom if she'll go halfsies on it with me, or at least pay for some it for early birthday present, because I need it so bad. And Blake says if I get it, he'll play with me. :D I was like, 'i'm not even very good at games like this, it comes with a guitar and a drum set' and he says, 'don't worry, you can just be ringo'. Haha. He wants to be John. The super expensive one comes with some kickass guitar replicas of whatever John&Paul&George played and the pearl finish 'The Beatles' drums of Ringo's while the cheaper one comes with just drums and guitar and microphone and yes, I've got to buy it. Now it's just a matter of not buying it all by myself. And dad says if I get it I can borrow his xbox.

Jimmy Fallon was talking about Beatles Rock Band, and I saw this joke coming from a mile away but I still laughed, "There are three levels, yeah. Hard, medium, and Ringo."

My mom's in Seattle and since she's coming home late wanted to get me something, so I told her to get In His Own Write by John Lennon and apparently, her boyfriend, Curtis, said something about Lennon having 'an attitude, and not a very good one.' Well shut up, Curtis. He's like my idol. And anyway. In His Own Write was before he was all Yoko Ono and long hair, not like there was anything wrong with it. Blargh. They didn't have it, so she called and was like,
they don't have it, anything else you want? How about a George Harrison album?' I was like, 'dude WHAT George Harrison album?' cos I really want Let It Roll or some other one, but she didn't say, so I was like, 'how about John Lennon music? Imagine, Lennon Legend?' and she asked the guy for a Beatles CD and I was like NO. JOHN. LENNON. (too embaressed to ask for Ringo Starr, aha) and then she switched topics and was like, how about a poster? 'FINE. What poster?' and she listed off a few and so I told her ANYTHING BUT THE ABBEY ROAD ONE. So I think she's getting the Let It Be one but I hope not. Oh well. It's better then the black and white hazy pictures I printed off the school comps a week ago.

See I look at this limited edition bundle of Beatles rock band stuff and it hurts it's so awesome. Like. The bass and the drum set and the guitarr. Nnr. But the best I can hope for is the value pack and that's awesome enough. Damn. Breathe in, breathe out, i fucking need this game...

kinda the best brother today

Blake has been super cool today I dunno why, we've just been clicking today. Like we were joking around about the Paul Is Dead theory, like, we've started a few of our theories. Ringo Starr is Bono or Bono is Ringo Starr and personally, I like, Bono Is Scott Summers and Therefore CAN NEVER TAKE HIS SUNGLASSES OF OR LASERS WILL SHOOT OUT FROM HIS EYES but Blake likes the Bono's Sunglasses Are Cursed and He Can Never Take Them Off. And the Everyone BUT Paul McCartney Died in 1966 and They Were All Replaced theory.

I've got Working Class Hero by John Lennon stuck in my head, it's a really good song and it's kinda how I think about a lot of things. I agree with John Lennon sometimes and other times I am just like, SHUT UP YOKO.

Sometimes I randomly start singing 'first I was a sailor. I sailed the seas. then I got a job, in a factory..' which is Ringo's song Liverpool 8. apparently a lot of people hate him for that song. Apparently a lot of people hate Ringo Starr for a lot of reasons; it's weird, because if you're going to hate any Beatle, why Ringo? he seems so nice. Not the best lyricist, but I like his stuff. ('we were young, we had fun..' from never without you. he wrote it for george and it makes me sad.) Haha, some of these Facebook groups make me laugh. Paul McCartney is Prettier Than Me, i joined that one, and Paul McCartney is a Woman. He is srsly way too pretty. That's why I keep watching the Hello Goodbye video, even though Hello Goodbye I don't like too much by itself, but the video, it's great. And the Penny Lane video is weird but the literal version IS AWESOME. Srsly. 'It looks like John is saying Bite Me to the camera guy.' AND IT DOES. 'What the hell?! It's our guitars.' Ha. BEST THING.

We went out for dinner and me and Blake were talking about the Beatles and Dad, randomly, says, 'yeah, girls used to go crazy for the Beatles..all that long hair...' and I was like, wtf dad hii. And then he went on to say his dad would always, like, say stuff: 'bunch of dirty long-haired hippies...' and this made me laugh because, ha, what? That's pretty awesome/hilarious. My grandpa bitching about the Beatles. And their hair. In the 70's.

My dad, who's a mailman, say the mailmen who deliver to my house say I sure order a lot of t-shirts. OMG. I did not know the mailmen keep track of my packages. And dad's like, 'the post office keeps track of many things about you, AJ.' and it was totally creepy. He paused and then said, 'it's nice you've been going to school on time lately.' WTH MAILMEN.

04 September 2009

ooer look who's skipping school (and british apparently)

Today is the "big game" at my school. I have stopped caring. All the classes were shortened so we could have a pep assembly during the last half hour. I call bullshit. well, the whole thing is bullshit, it's stupid and trite and overblown and ridiculous and I always hate them so i walked home. And today was pictures and for the Seniors it was just pics for our ASB cards so didn't really matter, but they called us out my grade/name so it was like, 'freshman a-l, go get pictures' and then they were like 'seniors, go get pics' and so I BOOKED out of choir and got my pictures, then I fixed my boots while lounging about till I figured out what time lunch started, then I went home to check for mail. No mail. I was hoping for books. Argh. Oh, ha, there was an announcement about the time before I left: if you have had your pictures done, please return to your classes and do not hang around in the hallways. So I left, yeh.

And in German today, besides totally PWNING the other team, a girl was like, "DUDE. ARE YOU BRITISH." I was like er wha? and she's like ENGLISH YOU SOUND ENGLISH ARE YOU FROM BRITAIN WHERE ARE YOU FROM. I'm like, born and raised here, yeh, and she was like NO WAY WHY DO YOU HAVE AN ACCENT THEN so I said I have a speech impediment (i do) but in retrospect I should've told her I just transferred from Hogwarts. Bah. And well. I do sound British sometimes. cos of the British shows I watch and the amount of Beatles videos I watch, it's hard not to imitate the accent or pick it up. And the speech impediment, it impends, yes, like to do my r correctly I have to set my mouth weirdly and so the vowels get mashed up or the r or the h or I add an h or my voice dips or something.

So yeh. Uh. I was googling 'ringo star without sunglasses' but before I got to the 'without sunglasses' bit it said, Google suggested 'ringo starr thomas and friends' and yeah, I had to see that. He was on Thomas the Tank Engine. OH RINGO.
OH WHAT THE HELL. THEY'RE REMAKING YELLOW SUBMARINE in 2012. WHYY.

I've not watched the whole thing yet but the voices threw me off- it's not their own voices. However, Ringo sounds like Ringo and Paul sounds like Paul but John and George don't really at all. Their cartoon characters, anyway, they still sing the songs. In the old one. But I like it.

Haha, Blake just got back from school & the assembly and he said that the video they usually play, like a school spirity one that the football kids did, they couldn't get it to work for like an hour. I lol'd.

02 September 2009

i'm sure i mentioned this

About how much I friggin love Ringo Starr and I've no idea why. I was just watching the Beatles Anthology and like, he's Ringo. And awesome. And I love George and Paul and John (to an extent, ha, no jk, he's awesome but I think he stopped eating&shaving&bathing around 1970, yeh?) but he's Ringo and also I just bought his first album. Called RINGO. From iTunes. I'm not sure I like buying music from iTunes, for one cos it's so easy and for another because I don't get the little booklet with the CD which usually has some hilariousness or something with it. It's good for buying things RIGHT NOW and just one song but for albums I think I'll stick to by CDs.
And Ringo Starr's band? Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band. Ahah. Gotta love him.

eta: I got Yellow Submarine on my iPod! Yes! Tomorrow, I'll try to get Help! and Very Potter Musical.

this is too easy

Today was a good day. I shall explain:
I slept well. I know I had some sort of dream, it was pleasant and no one was savagely eaten by bears (which happened in my dream on Monday, it was fucking terrifying, but not just for that reason) and my mom called me at 7:40 and told me to go to school. I wasn't late.

I looked good. I mean sometimes I look fine and sometimes I look awful and sometimes I look alright but damn, I looked good today. So I wore my black combat boots and black pants and my 'City Built on Rock and Roll' shirt, which is also black (natch), and wore my hair with some of it clipped back (so i could BREATHE) and black eyeliner. Shit. No joke, I felt & looked damn fine. Of course, stepping out into the sun was hell, since it's like 98 here, and the boots paired with the socks that slip off my heels was no good idea-since about 5th hour I realized I had blisters on my heels from the shoe rubbing against it. STILL.

I was just kind of happy- weirdly. Well, after lunch (which was a muffin and some pain killers, ha). And today Super Wal-Mart opened here and I was NOT planning on going but Heather called to bring me along and I figured we might as well get it over with. So I had to change into blue shorts and my shirt with the TARDIS on it since it's grey.

I got a NERF SWORD. At Super Wal-Mart. And then me and Heather battled them outside of Wal-Mart and we've got a duel set tomorrow after school at the park. Aha!

THE POST CAME. Well. THE MAIL. HERE'S THE MAIL IT NEEVER FAILS...yeh, you get the idea. ANYWAY. I had rushed home during lunch to get pills and get back in time for pizza at the SPAM meeting (no pizza left, aw) but I was in a terrible mood, I felt like shit and it was so hot, so I was arhh mail BUT I got my IPOD and my PAYCHECK YAYY. And I've mostly figured this iPod thing out. For one thing it's fugging huge. Like, it's heavy and rather large and it's 80 gb and refurbished- at Super Wal-Mart Heather was like this close to buying an iPod for herself and I was like, girl shop ONLINE for it, like I did, and then she mocked my iPod for being large and 80 gb while the one we saw at the store was small and 120. Like wha.

I'm putting Help! and A Hard Day's Night on my iPod and I'm downloading Yellow Submarine so I can put that on there, too. Oh, and A Very Potter Musical. And I downloaded George Harrison's song When We Was Fab because it keeps getting stuck in my head. The keyboard bit is catchy. Now I'm looking for All Of My Love by Led Zep cos it's I like it. or just a Led Zep album I think I'll go with. Yeah. Mothership. I am, apparently, going to waste all my money on iTunes, it's deceptively simple to buy music. AH! See? Just spent like 13 bucks. On music. Whatthehell. Okay, well it was 24 songs. Mhmm. Better.

Whenever I see the George Harrison album art in my iTunes library, I go "GEORGE!". Always. Just like whenever I see a picture of Ringo I go, 'oh ringo'. I like Ringo the best cus he's the only Beatles I'm absolutely frigging positive that's alive, oh ha ha ha. And his laugh. :D
