quote-searchin'
There is a car alarm going off outside. beepbeepBEEP-beepbeepBEEP. It is gradually more annoying...
anyway, looking for senior quotes. Thinking about "I catch dinosaurs."-Bob Dylan, "Reality leaves a lot to the imagination."-John Lennon
but I just found this by Kurt Vonnegut and though I won't use it I thought it's rather brilliant:

but I just found this by Kurt Vonnegut and though I won't use it I thought it's rather brilliant:
- I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.
- Kurt Vonnegut, Timequake, 1997
- ALSO ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME. the car alarm just stopped and COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ONCE GOES OFF WTF.

when/if
When/if I get a new ukulele (concert, i wanna concert uke) I wanna get a Sharpie and cover my cheapo soprano uke with Beatles lyrics quotes. my god I'm a Beatles dork. is this one of those things you should try and keep rather secret if it's, yknow, too fanatic? I mean, I've got like 5 Ringo albums. that is a little lame. BUT I LURVE RINGO. (see below.) and I dun wanna start beatleranting (I do but haven't the time)..so yahh
what else
uh
tonight was the school music concert- i'm in choir so i had to sing. it's a little depressing because do you know what? anything you do someone is always better then you. Sigh. i make myself feel better by thinking things like, well that person is hella good at music but uhh I have a personality? and hilariousness and fuck you, i can crochet things... anyway those things always get me down, i hate it when people are better at something than me. ugh. but that's everyone at everything really so I better get over it.
i'm knitting & crocheting things for relatives now, and I forgot how much i LOVE crocheting. jesus. so fun and gorgeus..
I want to crochet BEATLES.
/needs skin-colored acrylic yarn...

i love ringo starr
and i don't care who knows it.
today we were at Hastings..well, I was at Hastings with mom but it's Dad weekend with us, but I was bored so..anyway, we were wandering around looking at books (her bf has been trying to find a book on The Who for me which is very sweet of of him) at Beatle-y things (and laughing at the pure absurdity of a 500-piece White Album cover PUZZLE.) and then I wandered off and idly looked at musics (one Dire Straits album and no Kinks? WHAT KIND OF WORLD.) and I wander over to Mom who's looking through cheap Christmas albums and scoff, saying, "pshaw Christmas music." and she says idly, "did you know Ringo Starr has a christmas album?" and I stop and go "WHAT WHERE IWANTIT BEEN LOOKING FOR AGES OMGOMG" so she's like CALM DOWN here it is and it was on SALE and so now i have the RINGO STARR XMAS ALBUM. /dances with joy. I LOVE RINGO STARR AND I DON'T CARE WHO KNOWS. because he is RINGO and god I'm so secretly hoping that since he's got that new album out in Jan. he'll do a tour or something and come within a few hundred miles of here so I can go to a concert of his. Seeing Paul Live would be awesome, too, but he's on tour in Europe, so...yeah. Ringo. LOVE. uhm. but I still couldn't tell you my favorite Beatle.. (george...I love George...but uhm. yeah. I keep listening to Cloud Nine over and over again...is spectacular album.)
Alsooo what else hmmm....somethingsomethingsomething ah'm rather hyper and all, like, yeah...
oh I was just thinking the other, I am one of those crazy Beatles fan. I know it and so do the record companies- they know I'm gonna buy the new Paul DVD, the new Ringo album, the re-release of the old albums. dang. but also..the Kinks. I love them. and I've got to listen to some Dire Straits bootlegs I got. I heard Sultans of Swing on the radio and...something about the song just...like, you know when you hear a song and it, like, sticks with you? yeah, Sultans of Swing did that for me.hnn hnn OH right I wanna Kinks shirt.
it snowed here which is like an Xmas miracle since it never snows till like...January. :d cold.

being bored at dad's house
Today I took the ACT. I guessed on the math bits and wrote jokes and stuff in the 'do your figuring here' bit. 'what kind of name is guban and why does he want this sweater so badly dude just buy the sweater.' 'i have no idea, i guess i should'nt of failed so many math classes haha' 'look! batman!' 'i am upset because i cannot pattern my answers A C D C'. and like that.
And the internet is depressing. Because anything you can do, someone else can do better then you in every single way. Which is both terrifying, depressing, and strangely comforting at the same time. Ah well. I...forgot what I was going to say...Mom was talking to me over Facebook. Uh. I...oh, I just wish I was good at something, y'know? dangnabbit. I mean. Knowing very specific things is not 'being good' at a thing. (so much Beatles knowledge.) and playing a few easy tunes on the easiest instrument to play is also not impressive. I want to learn how to read music..I want to write songs...I want to go to bed and listen to Tuned to a Natural E and read With Strings Attached. Two of my MOST FAVORITE THINGS IN THE WORLD THAT I CAN PUT ON MY IPOD. which doesn't sound like a lot but is, considering the MOST FAVORITE THINGS IN THE WORLD I CANNOT PUT ON MY IPOD are, like, my ukulele, my mom, and pizza. And some other stuff. But music/books/movies, etc, those are ipodable. Anyway. TTANE and WSA (which I am reading for a second time. and is still spectacular. swear to god. double spectacular. i love it so much i want to draw fan-art for it. and i can't draw fan art.) will have to wait for later 'cos I wanna watch SNL tonight because Sharkboy is hosting it. Well, Taylor Lautner, the werewolf in those shitty Twilight movies. Also. He is really good-looking. He's got nothing on most of the celebrities I have crushes on (most-to-all of them from the past. paul john george ringo, eric clapton, roger and keith and pete and john, etc etc)
anywayy
we're watching Funny People
and Paul has a song on that movie
so yeah

how i roll
So I figured out FLAC files. And it's tricky. and takes a while a few different steps. First, download the file you want..(I've been getting the Tuned to A Natural E volumes which I've been liking quite a bit) then once it's taken an hour and half to download, extract the files, 'cos it's RAR right now and you can't do anything with that. So now you've got extracted FLAC files. Open up Winamp and make sure your something or another is set to decode those, then click..play file/folder and it will decode your Flac files to WAV files. Right, then, go into itunes and do the same thing, play/add file/folder, and add the WAV files. Then highlight all the files which will have names stupid names like Track01_01 or whatever and click 'Create an MP3' and let those convert. Now, go find and delete the WAV files, they're huge and take up space. Don't delete the MP3s. The WAVs. From your files, then make sure to delete them from itunes, too, otherwise it'll say 'this file cannot be found! would you like to find it?' Now you've got these MP3s with no album, artist, or names. Got to edit that. Highlight all of those- click Get Info. Add the Artist Name, Album name, and album artwork. Then go in to each single track and add the song title and track number- if you don't add the track number its gonna just alphabetize them and you'll have no order whatsoever.
There's gotta be a better way.
There's gotta be a better way.

sunday night
Sunday nights are for downloading Bootlegs, apparently, more often 10 o clock Sunday night I find myself trying to figure out FLAC files and waiting hours for downloads..right now I'm getting Tuned to a Natural E Volume 1. looks good. <3 beatlegs.
argh
today I found the White Album at goodwill- but it's only got the 1st disc. argh.
I'm pretty sure the radio station I listen to plays just the Beatles, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon (JUST DARK SIDE, THO.) and the Eric Clapton song Layla. Which I like. And have nothing wrong with. MORE KINKS I say. Whenever they play the Kinks, it's the song Lola. How about Low Budget? or Village Green Preservation Society? love that song. also lots of the Who. BUT YEAH. BEST STATION EVERR.
bored and cold.
gotta crochet 4 little Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for Kody for xmas. They're gonna be FRIGGIN ADORABLE. gotta get em done this weeekk...
I have Layla stuck in my head. LAAAYYLA. stupidericlapton. ah i kid. he is a rock god.
...should learn that for uke..
huh...
should go to bed...
should go to bed & read With Strings Attached for the 2nd time...yeah, it's that awesome. :D
and oh quick another thing in me being weird/random:
this week in Gov class, we was talking 'bout the news, which is largely Tiger Woods. and the teacher, Mr C was saying something about Tiger having a prenup in which his wife gets like 300 million..and then he says, "Paul McCartney, singer/songwriter, used to be in a band called Wings, and oh, another band before that.." lol, haha, "a few years back, got married to a girl, much younger then him--" me, interjecting: "shewasonlyoneyearolderthenhisoldestdaughterFORREAL." which got me a weird look and a, "yeah, only a year older then his oldest daughter..anyway, he was sure this was true love, and decided to not have a prenup...and then she divorces him and takes him for, oh, I don't know how much-" and me: "twenty-six million. pounds. 26millionPOUNDS." and another weird look: "err, yeah. that much.." and I only knew all that 'cos I had JUST READ IT THE NIGHT BEFORE, the whole Crazy Heather Mills thing, and so, yeah. and then Friday he did the "TODAY IN HISTORYY" thing and one of the things was the 11 people being trampled to death at a Who concert- and then Mr C mentioned that the Who was playing the Superbowl, and I frowned and said, "well. half the who." and he's like, "it's roger daltrey, the voice, and pete, their guitarist, so.." and I'm like, "and he wrote most of their stuff, too--- but it's not the Who without Keith and John." and I was for serious ready to debate the hell out of this with him..but he went on. argh, amirite, I can never find anyone to talk about muuusic with. Well except Blake. and he gets tired of me going on about JohnandPAULandtheBEATLESandomgCLAPTON! all the time. but today he said, "I listened to that song Here Today today..." and he got this look on his face, and I was like, "YES. I KNOW: YES. right? SAAD." the one that Paul wrote about John- v. sad. and secretly I do believe Blake is something of a Beatles fan. bahaha.
and one day I missed Gov and then I was going to Brit Lit and the BL teacher always stands outside the classroom and says, 'howdy' 'hello' 'thanks for coming' and all that, and that day I mised Mr C's class he happens to be standing by the door with the BL teacher and he calls my name (my first name, which, I have learned through practice, I am called whenever people are angry- most of the time I am AJ but if I piss you off I'm gonna be called by my First Name- what the A stands for) and was like, "where were you today?" and I was panicking slightly, two teachers glaring at me, so nonchalantly I said, "I wasn't there." and booked it into the room and hear some other kid who was standing about chortle at my answer. Anyway. BL teacher- Mr P- is taking role- ("AJ?" "yeah") and he starts asking me, oh AJ why'd you skip government? I didn't, I just missed it. Oh AJ do you not like Mr C? no, I- AJ why do you hate Mr. C? it's not that it's- or is it Government you hate? me, snapping under the pressure: Yeah, no, it's THE government I hate. Then I sort-of chanted, ANARCHY! and raised a fist into the air and added, "up the workers and all that." Because in panic mode, I will make obscure Beatles movies quotes. -facepalm- anyway- some kids laughed and he went on with the role, thereby diverting him from asking me anymore questions I didn't want to answer.
also as such from missing a gov. class, mr C, who knows my mom, now has a joke when he sees me at class on time, he acts all shocked: OH MY GOSH AJ YOU'RE HERE ON TIME. WOAH, AJ, NICE TO SEE YOU. me, mumbling:shutyourrepublicanface.
a joke I've taken to making around mom and her Republican friends, who happen to ask if I'm Democrat or Republican, is "I'm a goddamn tree-hugging hippie liberal." :D

hahah
so quick: me and H did our Foods project (creating and designing a food) on Fish 'n Chip Flavoured Chips (because we wanted to do something Beatle-y) and on the side of the box we put "quotes" from famous British people. Harry Potter- "There are two things I love in this world: magic, and Fish and chip flavored crisps.", the Beatles-"FAB!", Oliver Twist-"please sir, may I have some more..fish and chips?", and Winston Churchill-"As much as I hate Nazis, I love these chips.". Blake found the box and he was like, really just FAB? and then we went on to make some awesome ones. "FORGET all you need is love, all you need are THESE CHIPS!" "I'd live in a Yellow Submarine FULL OF THESE CHIPS." "My guitar is gently weeping because I'm OUT OF CHIPS!" "I hope these chips are still around WHEN I'M SIXTY FOUR." The possibilities are endless. OMG.

vinyl is dead
But I still like to buy records anyway. Also I don't have a record player. BUT. Today I was at Goodwill with dad & blake and I was looking at records and mom just scoffs and laughs at me and says you dun have record player, but my dad was like DUDE, RECORDS and helped me look for a bunch. Let's see. I got: Hotel California (the Eagles), Endless Summer (the Beach Boys- okay, yeah, but I like I Get Around or whatever it is) a Pink Floyd thing (some double album of a live thing or something..), Julian Lennon ('cos he's a Lennon), and dad picked out a Bad Company album so that's all cool.
I really need a record player.
I really need a record player.

pauuuull
Tonight that Paul McCartney Good Evening New York thing was on tonight...mhm, he's like, he's so amazing, I was just perpetually smiling for the whole hour. Lovelovelove times so many. It's crazy.
And afterwards I said to Blake, "Oh he was talking about being in New York reminded him of John and ohh he sang Here Today and it was just just ohh", meaning that it was so sad and sweet I wanted to cry but Blake was like, "well that explains perfectly was it was like, thankss." And then we were joking around about the incident where Paul went and visited John in 1976 and got turned away. 'Paul just leave, this isn't liverpool.' 'FINE John I don't need you anyway! I'll...I'll go and make an album with Ringo!' '*snicker*' 'whatever paul' 'What was that?' 'what was what, Paul?' 'Is...George in there? George?' 'SHH I'm not here!' 'Yeah, George isn't here.' 'And we're not just hanging out and making awesome music together. ' '*sniffle* WHATEVER like I CARE about you GUYS...me and RINGO are just...just......*sniffle*' 'Are you CRYING, Paul?' 'NO.' 'haha, he's cryin'!' 'I AM NOT *sniffle* crying! me and Rings are gonna make an album called HEY EVERYBODY JOHN AND GEORGE SUCK THEY JUST SUCK' 'hahaha' 'STOP LAUGHIN' AT ME'
which is weird 'cos it's usually Ringo we joke about, but it's all good fun; I just love the Beatles so friggin' much it's crazy. It would be so amazing to see Paul in concert. as it is I'd settle for Ringo haha. Ringo would be awesome, too. or the DVDs of their concerts. yeah, that sounds mighty cheaper and more likely to happen...but OMG the WHO are playing the SUPERBOWL halftime. HOLYSHIT YES. I mean like. What's left of the Who, really, and they're old too now, and it's Roger and Pete that alive still, yeah? and Zak Starkey is their drummersometimes. should be cool.
Oh me and Blake were talking about a Second Generation Beatles Reunion. Consisting of! Sean Lennon on guitar and Dhani Harrison on guitar and James McCartney on bass (he plays guitar but somebody has to play bass, James) and of course, Zak Starkey on drums. LIKE THIS WOULD EVER HAPPEN. but it would be pretty awesome. I mean. Dhani Harrison looks like a CLONE of his father and Sean Lennon looks like (I've discussed this with a few people and this is the conclusion we've reached) an Asian John Lennon and Zak Starkey...not sure if he totally looks like Ringo but he's got that nose and behind the drums it'd be perfect...and James McCartney is the one issue here because he is hella blonde (he looks like an Albino) and sort of creepy looking, haha, but it'd work I think. How awesome would this be. And how disastrous. Lol. Alternately: use Julian Lennon instead of Sean. I just think Sean is cuter.
mhmm I am bored. Oh last night I ordered two random shirts from shirt.woot, haven't bought in shirts in ages. but I really need some rock 'n roll shirts. The Who, the Kinks...I've already got a Beatles shirt but I of course need more.

classic rock saturday
I've been listening to Classic Rock 102.9 like all night, waiting for a Beatles song. There's been Bowie and Hendrix and the song I Want You To Want Me (off the top of my head can't think of who sings it but it's a good song) and NOW finally there's Oh Darlin'. Not the best but good McCartney vocals. We were going to Goodwill today and Watching the Wheels came on, and I was like, "Stop. John Lennon." And when we got back in the car after shopping I was like, "omg. MCCARTNEY." and it was Band on the Run. I love it. Srsly. This station makes me want to get one of them radio adaptors for ipods. We were going down to Albertson's and this song was bugging me, the voice was so familiar and I couldn't name it. Finally figured out it was Mick Jagger and sad it took me that long to figure it out.
Gasp! Now Centerfold. Good song.
so yeah, that's what I've been doing all night. Well. I made a pizza. And I've been reading fanfiction. And today at Goodwill I bought two records- Foghat and Black Sabbath. Right, I know. I don't have a record player. But this brings my total number of records up to 4. I have a Bob Dylan one, Nashville Skylines, and I love the album cover, and a Rolling Stones single, I think it's called. The little records. She's So Cold. Yeah. So eventually I'll get a record player. I kind of want a Beatles record. y'know. 'cos.
I had an idea for song today...at like 4 in the morning. Did I mention this? it feels like I wrote this somewhere...huh. Uh. Oh. No, okay. So I took a colored pencil from a shelf and scribbled it down. 'I wanna be your Yoko Ono.' So yeah. I imagine it with electric guitars. But it's not really anything yet...
So I kind of want to work in culinary arts or cooking or pastry chef but what I really really want to do, (Janis Joplin on the radio now. !!) is radio. Like Classic Rock 102.9. Playing awesome music all day and all that. What. Could. be. More. Awesome. NOTHING. BUt if I wanted to do radio work, I'd need serious speech therapy. 'cos I talk badly. Like my R's and my S's and this weird accent thing I do...omg Pink Floyd is playing now. I have a serious love for this radio station. Ahh. 'Money' from Dark Side of the Moon. Holy shit. I want to write a love letter to Classic Rock 102.9 and I really want to work there. Is not likely, is it? What is life without rock 'n roll? Could I do it, I wonder, totally revamp my speech patterns all by myself by, say, next year? It's crazyness. I'd have to completely rewire the way I speak and how I say words...is there a website for this? fuuck. Radio Communications. There are classes for this at community colleges. Which are honestly the only colleges I will be able to get into. Since AJ=terrible student who gave none to little thought about how high school would affect after-high school life. Turns out, a lot. Like. Colleges like it when you have 3 math classes. I'v had three. Just failed one. Aand. They like extra curricular activities. Ah, nope. And money...well, thank God for FAFSA. I...might try to do this speech thing. Uh, google? Any help here? See, I took speech classes from like 1 grade to 6th- every Mon and Wed I'd go to the public school and meet with a speech therapist where I'd learn my R's and S's and another boy would learn his R's. His R's are still terrible. Anyway. After I stopped taking speech classes I completely lost the knack for speaking like a normal person and in fact at one point in middle school there was a running joke that I could not not properly say the word 'kangaroo' and instead would say 'kangawoo'. Not true. Eh. Anyway. According to this one site about kids with speech problems, i have articulation issues. No big surprise. It's sort of weird, isn't it, that other people have apparently no problems saying something like 'car' but I say 'cah'? Or that other people don't have to think about making an rrr sound? Or that I am not quite sure exactly how to make that sound? Yeah I think it is a little weird...
So there's this site for kids' parents to help them. Speech Activies or Something but their little motto or slogan whatever caught me: We help those who need to be understood. That's perfect; exactly what I need. Oh there's a bunch of sites for things like this. maybe I should try these. I think, yeah, I'll try to start speaking better. There must be something wrong with my brain, that I can't properly say things? Grr.

a fact of life
No matter the time, channel, or place, if Secondhand Lions is on the television, I'm gonna be watching most of to all of it. Once it was on at like 1:30 in the morning. I watched all of it. It's just such an amazing movie. Also there is a lion. But also for the line "defend yourself." I use that one all the time. And it's just. Very cool. The whole movie. Is awesome. Uh. Yeah.

it's a rock and roll sort of day
Today I wore my City Built on Rock and Roll shirt. It's my favorite shirt.
I was in Gov. class and had finished the test which was rather easy, and so I was reading a John Lennon biography that I've been reading for ages now but it's just been getting interesting- Lost Weekend and all that, and so I happened to be on a page with a picture- Lennon drinking and looking sad, I think, and Mr. C (the gov teacher, the same one who's friends with my mom and is buddies with my brother Kody) walked by and was like, 'Can I see your book?' so I showed him it and I know he likes rock 'cos at the beginning of the year he was like, "and y'all will be glad to know I have the complete works of Led Zeppelin on my computer." so he was like, Oh, John Lennon, very interesting. I like him I'd have to say my favorite Beatle is...mhm, and here he thought about it and was like, George. And I grinned was like, Dude, yeah he's my favorite too. It's a good book though. And then he came back like 10 minutes later and was like, 'even though Lennon has the best album title- Shaved Fish.' I was all, 'yes, that is awesome.'
Instead of choir today, there was a college rep from Whitworth in the guidance counselors so I told the choir teacher I'd be there- then I went there. Anyway. I have absolutely no intention of going to Whitworth but it was pretty fun. And then I went to Knowledge Bowl where a girl I might have mentioned before (I know her, she likes classic rock like I do, she's a little weird, she plays electric guitar in jazz band, and she's uber republican so when I was in a class with her last year we'd get into loud arguments about Obama or whatever) was like, "where did you get your shirt?" I was a little caught off guard so I said, "The Internet." and she was like, oh, and I said, d'you get it, it's a city..rock and roll. and she was like, uh yes. And then the Knowledge Bowl coach (cool math teacher) was all, "AJ is that any particular skyline or.." "The city of rock and roll. is the city." I said. And for one question I'm not sure why but he asked- Who sings Paradise By the Dashboard Light? and this girl rang in at the same time I did- she said Axle Rose and I was like, MEAT LOAF. I was riiight. Anyway...
The other day in German I was bored and had Eric Clapton on the mind, so I wrote on my paper: Eric Clapton, then connected him to Jimmy Page with straight line and the words: Yardbirds/New Yardbirds, Led Zep. And then I connected Clapton to George Harrison with 'While my guitar gently weeps, Pattie Boyd', who in turn was connected to the Beatles with 'lead guitarist' and then off of the Beatles were Paul McCartney and John Lennon and Ringo Starr. And Ringo Starr connects to Keith Moon with 'Two sides of the moon' and also to Clapton with 'never without you' and to Harrison with 'Photograph' and...well, Ringo Starr is connected with most everyone. And so I was making this interlocking web of rock stars. And at the bottom I put: Map of Rock Stars.(Still in progress.)-Is everyone connected to Ringo Starr? And today in Foods I was reading my Lennon book and to Heather, who was playing with my pen that looks like a syringe I was like, do you have a pencil? and added 'Lennon---got drunk with----Keith Moon' and 'Lennon---Whatever Gets You Thru the Night-----Elton John' cos Elton John did the keyboards for that, who knew? And I think John and Paul are the only Beatles who don't connect with each other directly--which is to say they didn't really do anything together post-Beatles. We're not counting Real Love or Free As a Bird because that is zombie music.
I love this radio station. Just a minute ago- Layla. Now, Get Back. Classic Rock 102.9 for the win.

random rock and roll obsessions
So of course I love the Beatles but would I call them the Greatest Rock and Roll Band of All Time?
no.
that is The Who.
anyway, I mention this because this summer I read this book- King Dork, which is like my favorite YA book, and the main character lists the top 20 or so rock 'n roll bands, or something. Anyway. I remember copying down this list with a note to listen to those bands but never got around to it..
so now, I go back and find the list and it turns out I've been listening to those bands for the last few months. For instance, the Kinks. Who are awesome. The Village Green Preservation Society is awesomness. Anyway. The Who and the Stones and the Yardbirds and some other bands I've not listened to but need to.
What I'm saying is I need a Who and a Kinks t-shirt.
Nowww.
Amazon.
Do you know what I dislike? Greatest Hits CDs. Liike. It just kind of, well, I like to think of an album as a work of art- good bad or otherwise, as a complete work, you know. So you have your Sgt. Pepper's and your Who By Numbers and all that, but then you've got your Beaucoup of Blues and Two Sides of the Moon (ah, drummer jokes) but whether it's terrible or epic, it's the entire album as a piece and that's it, the single songs are add up to it. So when you take one here and one there just becuase they're "hits" and add them all together, it just puts me off a bit. Also there's no chronogicalness to it- you buy an album from 1966 then likely all the songs are from that year and so you've got a 1966 feel for it. On a Greatest Hits album, it's all over the place and there's a little bit of 70 and 75 next to 71 or what have you. I'm just sayin'.

none of your prima donna scenes, paul
So tonight because I was bored and can never find Backbeat online, I watched Birth of the Beatles. And uh. AHAHAHAHAHA. In so many ways it was awful and cheesy but so ridiculous and bad it was funny. Like. My favorite part is when they're doing their first recording session, and there's this bright red light on in the room, and Paul says, "Brian can we have the light off?" and Brian Epstein like snaps at him, "NONE OF YOUR PRIMA DONNA SCENES, PAUL." Haha. Also, some bits of the movie might as well been written by Pete Best-- when Brian has to fire him (the movie makes it out to be that the others wanted him out so they got Eppy to do it, but in real life the thing was George Martin didn't like Pete's drumming) and Pete's all, HOW COULD THEY DO THIS I AM THE BEST DRUMMER IN ENGLAND- I KNOW IT AND THEY KNOW IT AND EVEN RINGO KNOWS IT. Full of lols! UGH and all the Stu Sutcliffe stuff- so over-dramatized and cheesy. Another one of my favorite parts- the Beatles are about to go on stage but Stu's just dropped dead and so Astrid (Stu's gf) comes to them and says, "Stu's dead" and this DRAMATIC MUSIC OF SADNESS swells up. And then John goes on the stage and does this whole weepy thing, "mah bestest friieend is deeaayd" and uh, it was just, yeah. Bad. And omg, just 'cos Eppy was gay doesn't mean he was all flaming and feminine and 'oh would you boys like some tea?' and flirting outrageously and all that. The acting I guess wasn't too terrible, considering the task- their voices were off but the guy who did Paul, he had the right sort of girly eyes and their George was rather moody so that was alright. Guy who did Ringo was bad but he wasn't in the movie a lot. Oh I read on imdb that NONE OF THE BEATLES wanted this movie coming out, they tried to stop it and all. No joke, haha, it was made 1979, so even John was alive to say, FUCK AND NO but that didn't stop it.
But I still reallyy want to see Backbeat which is more about John & Stu. sounds like fun. and OMG Nowhere Boy which comes out in the UK next month- looks awesome. with no Beatles music in it, whatsoever- couldn't get the rights, but at the end I guess they got John's song Mother. The movie's about John as a kid. The Quarrymen and all that stuff.
The other day in English, the journal entry questions were like, 'do you think about death & dying? what occasions thinking about death & dying? what happens when you die?' Of course, this being me in English class where I am bored all the time and know the teacher doesn't even read this anyway (once I just ranted about being married to Batman for an answer to one, dunno why) I gave joke-y non serious answers or just literal ones like: "Yes. When I watch House or CSI. Your heart stops and bloodflow ceases, oxygen to the brain stops and effectively your body shuts down and from then on, begins to decay." knowing of course he prolly wanted an answer like 'u g 2 heven' or whatevs. So the teacher then poses these questions to the class- "Who thinks about death and dying?" and most of the boys and me raise our hands, and so he starts to ask why we think about our death all the time, so I say, "Well, not nessacrily our death, you know, just in general I thought you meant?" Because here is the thing: everyone is going to die. Andandand that means Paul McCartney is going to die during my lifetime and I don't think I am going to be able to handle that. At all. Nor Ringo Starr's death. I don't remember George dying (I was 11, I think, or 10) and I wasn't alive for John's. It terrifies me that any day, one of the Beatles could die. It's stupid to think about. But I still check the news all the time and wake up each morning a little bit scared. Ever since that week in June when like 5 famous people died, whenever we talk about the news, one of us goes, "aw who died now?" Sometimes Blake says jokingly, "alyssa, paul mccartney is dead" and I just look at him and go, "not funny. at all." It is probably not normal to worry about some celebrity's death like this but the Beatles are more then celebrities they're, like, fucking legends. Anyway the point of this was I did not feel like telling anyone I am continually terrified Paul McCartney (and Ringo, too, but I'm always more worried about Paul dying (which is weird because Ringo is older) (but if you talk to some people paul's already dead isn't he?)) up and dying one day. Fuck. I'm going crazy and I hope Paul doesn't die now that I've expressed such fears. I was almost in tears earlier reading about Linda McCartney, she's dead, and then George's death. ;( I can't read a Lennon biography without crying at the end. SPOILER ALERT. He dies. No, he gets killed. Arghahfgfgfarr I get filled with rage and sadness with that whole thing. Oh what annoys me: those "still pissed at yoko" shirts or whatever. HERE'S ONE FOR YOU: "still fucking pissed at mark david chapman" but then that's all MDC wanted, fucking fame, the ican'teventhinkofawordstrongenoughtodescribethatmonster.
hmm i sorta want to go to bed but Blake & dad & sandy are in the living room watching GI JOE RISE OF THE COBRA (snicker snicker rise of the cobra) and it's very loud and lucky for me I happen to have the room directly next to the living room with thin walls. (sarcasm). So I would not get be getting any sleep done. Anyway Dad and Sandy are pretty drunk I am guessing 'cos they're not really getting the movie at all. 'are those aliiennns?' 'no sandy that's COBRA' and 'snakeyes huh what's his deal?' me, from the kitchen (computer as always): 'he's a NINJA, sandy' 'ohh does he always wear that shield thing..' and blake, 'uh yeah he's a ninja' 'does he TALK' 'uhh..'
and now dad and sandy are going to his room ew ew.
maybe blake will turn the volume down so I can goes to sleep.
/is tired for no reason. have done nothing ALL DAY. well i went outside to smoke a cigarillo for no reason 'cept for being bored and then I watched part of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and watched that Beatley thing but beyond that, yeahh no. Oh I printed TONS of ukulele tabs/chords off dad's computer, haha.
he seems to be playing a weekend-long game of 'pretend aj does not exist and ignore her completely' for the most part. I admit he's very good at it. and usually I don't mind. but god. being ignored, if you've been, it really really hurts. and taking that one step further, pretending I'm not there is like being stabbed in the heart. I should be used to it by now. Jesus. I've been on the fucking computer all day. No joke. How sad is that? Fuck. Well, I got off that once to smoke- might try that again- and another to to play the uke for a bit. and to eat dinner and to watch SNL for a few minutes and eat ice cream. It's weird but I can't play the uke and sing here. Well I can, i mean it doesn't feel right, I feel like I have to hide. At mom's I'm like, in the kitchen going SOOMMETHIIING IN THE WAAY and blasting out the chords...no shyness or anything but there I'm alone in my room and strumming lightly and mumbling the words even though I know no one can hear me or honestly really even gives a damn about me if I am singing/playing. I'm tryin' to get the shuffle pattern down for All My Loving. down-downupupdownupdown-downupupdownup. the pattern itself is easy- now play the chords and sing along, yeah? and there's the problem. Oh well I'll get it.
I got out my dad's guitar today and good lord it is huge and unwieldy and the fucking strings are like knives and there are so many frets! and then I was holding my uke and was like, this is perfect. feels nice. better then GIANT GUITAR MONSTAH.
I keep wanting to knit something but not getting around to it. Faiil.
I am way to ridiculously obsessed with the Beatles in many ways. It's not too bad though, I guess.
/is a geek.
Is sort of bad though because well everyone likes the Beatles so when you say you like the Beatles people are like, oh right the Beatles and think you're just saying that, right, but as I've discussed before, there are different types of Beatles fan. I'm definetely in the 2nd one (knows random facts and all the songs and that) and making my way towards the third category (which is like, Beatles tattoos and pilgrames to Strawberry fields and general life-revolving-around Beatles)
and now I'm listening to the Rolling Stones. They're good. hard to believe they're from the same time period as the Beatles, the stones seem more rock and roll then the Beatles. The Who, too. huh. What's all that about then.
But I still reallyy want to see Backbeat which is more about John & Stu. sounds like fun. and OMG Nowhere Boy which comes out in the UK next month- looks awesome. with no Beatles music in it, whatsoever- couldn't get the rights, but at the end I guess they got John's song Mother. hmm i sorta want to go to bed but Blake & dad & sandy are in the living room watching GI JOE RISE OF THE COBRA (snicker snicker rise of the cobra) and it's very loud and lucky for me I happen to have the room directly next to the living room with thin walls.
The Who, too. huh. What's all that about then.

this evening
At dad's. Arby's for dinner. Blake's at a sleepover and so dad and Sandy and I were gonna go to a movie at like 9.20 but I was like, I am all for late movies but not late shitty late movies like 2012. Yes. They were gonna go see 2012. Ugh.
So then I was pretty set on knitting gloves with some Noro yarn and couldn't quite find a pattern I liked..and so I'm gonna knit a iphone sock/cozy Frazier who saw mine and was like, make me one? So I am with some pretty Noro.
I've listened to..Revolver, Help! a few of the Past Masters tracks, and now I'm listening to Hard Day's Night. All the Mono Remasters which someone has ever so kindly posted on Youtube. Thank you, internet. Fuck, I love the mono versions. They're spectacular. Grrr.
So I don't know how big an iphone is. But it seems to be about the same size as my ipod, just a little...er, wider...ish, but slimmer? And grr. Well. Ah. Let's see. This one for my ipod is 32 on size 4s I think- and my ipod is chunky. So maybe..that would work. It's a 2x2 rib. Maybe if I did the body part in stockinette and the top bit in rib, in a 1x1 rib or a 1x3? Then I could do like...34 or 25 stitches. That might work. ..this is me being grumpy. See it's pretty slim.
Do you know what's a really good song? I've Just Seen A Face. The Across the Universe version a little better then the original...I feel as if I'm a traitor just saying that but I like it a lot better. Is good either way though. I want to learn it on the uke...oh, hey. Tabs. and the Ukulele Mike guy on youtube (awesome uke vids) has a tuturial. Internet. I love you.

i wanted to knit a glove
So i did, with some leftover malabrigo. But I don't think I will have enough for another glove. It is warm. And quick. and now I can knit gloves.
i really hate school
Ridiculously so. Instead of choir today I went to the library and printed out a bunch of ukulele chords/tabs. Mostly Beatles stuff but I Don't Like Mondays and...oh, Re Your Brains. which is a hilarious song. I love Jonathon Coulton.
Usually after school I come home and get on the computer until about 5:30 when mom comes home, or sometimes I take a nap. Usually while on the computer, I listen to music on Grooveshark or something...but today I got out the radio/cd player and am listening to the radio. Is good. Midnight Rambler was on. Today, at Knowledge Bowl meeting during lunch, the coach (the math teacher who has the TARDIS stand-up in his room) had a video of a concert on his SMARtboard and I was watching it and, despite having never really seen any pictures of Pink Floyd, I would've sworn on my life that was David Gilmour. and it was. :D SHIIIINE ON you CRAZY DIAMOND.
Also today mastered the art of walking and reading on my ipod at the same time. Reading With Strings Attached which is so much win it's painful. Gosh.
Was very bored in English class today while the teacher was going on about this essay we have to write, about The Perfect Marriage, and my 'zero draft' was like, a perfect marriage is not possible but the perfect marriage is the constant striving for the perfect marriage. It was drivel and predictable and ridiculous. And since he's basically left this assignment open-ended, I've decided on write on a marriage I know very, very well: Homer and Marge Simpson. Should be fun; whether it'll be a good essay or not or even within the parameters of the assigned work is yet to be seen. I just don't want to write some BS essay I don't even feel.

i'm a little depressed
but for no particular reasons.
didn't have school today. vet's day.
found my brother's bootcamp (?) dogtags in the car so I'm wearing them. they have his name on them but i sort of like them.
this ukulele teacher guy on youtube had a new video today? All My Loving. which coincidentally I am trying to learn. so that's nice.
I'm just being sad and bored and realizing the Beatles are like the only thing making me happy lately. it's a little sad, yeah.
i just hate going back to school where i hate everyone and nobody notices me or anything.
it's 11:11 on 11:11. epic wish time.
is over. made a wish. hope it comes true.
i kind of want to start a baaand. but who would want to be in a band with a dorky girl who can barely play the ukulele? ;(
i told my mom today if I got the stereo collection of Beatles CDs and a new, better ukulele, I would be deliriously happy. She was like, uh-huh.
oh my i have a lot of tags. haha.

note to self
Self: next time your go to the comic book shop in Spokane, look for Vertigo comics, Greatest Hits. It's pseudo-Beatles comics. MAJORWIN. The Beatles in Comics. Awesome.

i want to make a t-shirt
One black one that simply says: 1940-1980 for to wear on December 9th since it's the (sob) day Lennon was shot...(holds back tears) and another Lennon-inspired one that has this, like, bleach-dyed onto it: we all shine on. And I dunno, just a series of Beatle-y t-shirts. Like one that has 'revolution' on it or something lame or, like, yeah. I really want to do that We All Shine On one and definetly do a 1940-1980.
i've been alone all day
Was sick home from school. Ugh should do laundry.
okay, I sorted out my clothes like mom's been bugging me to do for ages now. will wash one pile and toss the other, I guess. also, damn: I have lots of tshirts.
I've been alone all day. is disconserting. I think mom is swimming tonight too so I will be alone even longer. I don't know where my brother is.
/me is grumpy.

in ukulele news
I like to think I'm getting better but I know I'm not but I think I actually am because instead of singing along with Imagine today, I just played the chords and it sounded like Imagine. or close enough anyway. and same with Something. and I'm really liking playing I Wanna Hold Your Hand, but, err lamely I reallyreallyreally like to play It Don't Come Easy.by, yes, Ringo Starr. back off (boogaloo!) he's pretty awesome.
I was like, MOM I WILL SERENADE YOU and she was like, MAKE ME HOT CHOCOLATE THEN SERENADE ME. I did Imagine and Something and I Wanna Hold Your Hand for her (last night, over Skype, I did It Don't Come Easy and Liverpool 8 and other random songs for Heather) and besides the fact I suddenly got very nervous, singing-wise (which is weird because I will sing anything anywhere and anytime. we were leaving McDonald's yesterday and I was singing HEY JUUDE DON'T MAKE IT BAAD...under the assumption nobody else was around in the parking lot but in fact the McD's guy was right behind us. and today I was talking to H walking to class and we brought up the Lion King and I broke out in song, EVERYONE SAYING DO THIS! and she didn't break out in song with me so I was like, argh hoffman what the hell.) and so I was just mumbling the words and blushing and trying to get my chords right.
So there's a show on in a half hour called How the Beatles Rocked the Kremlin on PBS or something. It's got Beatles in the title so I'm for defs watching it.
And try to learn If I Fell on the uke. It's got a lot of tricky chords.
also today was the first meeting of our CHS knitting/crochet club, which actually is overwhelmingly crochet. irks me. I know I started out a crocheter and bitched about knitting but honestly, I think I'm more a knitter now, I haven't used a crochet hook in weeks. Well, wait, I tell a lie. I used to crochet hook to save a dropped stitch while knitting. Yep. Anyway. The german teacher, an English teacher, and the librarian were there- and some little frosh boy who crochets and loom-knits and so I ran off to get H. so I could even out the teacher/student ratio since it was leaning rather annoyingly to the teacher side. it was fun 'cept I'm a doofus and forgot my goshdarn yarn so I just sat there and was like, yes I knit I just...forgot my stuff.
and I finished another ipod sock (did I mention I made on, yes, no? i did. i made another.) and I made one for H., too, since she asked and needs ones. it's like a little pocket with a button, the button is a robot. like mine, my first one had a button-robot. robot-button. hnn.
mhmm I have Cheezits party mix which is like cheezit chex mix so ti's pretty awesome. and dr pepper. and a ukulele and yarn and i am in general, pretty content except I have to go to school tomorrow. ergh. also I am getting sick. with the cold or something.
I totally half-assed my way through an English test today. it was a strange feeling. mhm. is beowulf a static or dynamic character? mhm as you can see from this here quote he does not change at all tha end.
I've looked at my priorities in life lately and here's what I've found:
1. music.
So those are the main two things that are keeping me alive, lately. Like I'll be having a hell of a time in school or just a terrible day and then I'll think, oh. Paul McCartney exists. I'm alright. Or I'm so dead tired I just want to pass out in bed but I'll go I should try and learn the beginning bit for Imagine spot on...
Also, knitting and yarn and all that.
Today I said to my mom, "Mom, I should tell you that when I'm not in school, I'm the happiest I've ever been." I really hate school. It's soul-numbing and oppresive and evil and fuck the man, dude. christ. I hate just writing about it, it makes me sad...
okay, back to my uke and then watching that Beatles thing. :D
sidenote: singing Liverpool 8, it's hard not to burst out laughing at the really cheesy lyrics. but i love Ringo.

classic rock 102.9
That's my favorite radio station. EVER.
Yesterday 'The Ballad of John and Yoko' was on. Now, I'm the type of person when a Beatles/Who/Stones/Kinks/Dylan (and anyone else awesome I'm forgetting) I have to stop the conversation and sing with it or just listen. And we did. And then today, leaving the haircut place, I literally was like, "STOP. ringo." and It Don't Come Easy was on. So I turned the volume up and we sang GOT TO PAY YOUR DUES IF YOU WANNA PLAY THE BLUES AND YOU KNOW IT DON'T COME EASY
and again today, we were leaving Albertson's and I was like, PAUL and Band on the Run was on so I turned it up, yelling, "Paul McCartney and WINGS Band on the RUN" and we all sang "BAAAAND on the RUUN" so I'm thinking someone at that station likes the Beatles which is awesome.

Figure I'd better finish off the previous's post title thing.
I got a haircut today. It's layer-y.
Am still trying to learn Imagine on the uke. Or I Wanna Hold Your Hand. arghh.
am killing time because I am loading the movie Backbeat on youku and is slow loading and yes, it's about the Beatles. Also I want to watch I'm Not There which is about Bob Dylan. who is also awesome.
sooo I'm just bored. sundays are boring. i have a red bow in my hair.
grrr.

turn on, tune in
I got my tuner today. And so now I'm all tuned up and everything so what I'm playing is starting to sound like what I want it too. I'm getting quite good at Imagine and Something. I want to learn, uh, I Want to Hold Your Hand or the like, you know. Uh. All My Loving. ROCKY RACCOON would be so fun to play! and sing.
So just a few minutes ago I was on the couch playing Imagine and mom says, wow, it's starting to sound like something and at first I am slightly miffed because a) i did not know she was listening, I kind of get into it, singing/mumbling and ignoring numb fingertips and b) it was sort of insulting but also, cool, and then she brought up getting me lessons for Christmas. which honestly i'd never thought about. so that would be really cool.
and my fingertips and still slightly number. It's the F and A that get my index finger. ergh.
Also today I ran into a door. Sort of. kinda. It more like hit me in the face as I was trying to walk through the doorway. and slammed my glasses up against my face. and into my eye. there is a cut above my eye. and my glasses are all wonky. so, yeah, excitement.
right now I'm searching the interwebs for Beatles tabs and whatnot..I started playing some guitar ones for a while before I realized it. lol

heyy jude
At any given point, someone in my house is singing this, swear to God. It is damned catchy.
My hands are all red. From dyeing yarn. I wanted red yarn and I had cherry Koolaid so I bought some Paton's Wool and dyed it. 4 packets of Cherry Koolaid did not make it very red so I was all grumpy; we went down to the store and I got six packets of Tropical Punch, which has sufficiently reddened the yarn. And mah haands.
Today was a half day cos we had these student led conferences. And SO. (uh I should be nanowrimoing..) I went with H. and some other AP Comp/Lit (iforgetwhich) kids and helped them do a project for Beowulf, they're makin' a Beowulf movie. Since it's H. and 2 other girls, I ended up doing the camera-work and also I was Unferth in the scene where Unferth dies. I got killed by Grendel. Who was H. Anyway. Was crazy fun. And helping again tomorrow.
So my student led conference was today at 5:30 and I made it 5:30 so mom could come after work. She wasn't there. Dad was. And I came home and was all, pff thanks for coming to my conference mom. And she was like, no that's tomorrow. I was like, no it was a few minutes ago. And she was like WHAAT.
Ugh I am shaking so bad right now for no particular reason. I'm not like really cold or anything fuuck. Shaking. Ugh so. I should have like double the Nanowrimo words I have like now. Arghh.

todayy
Things That Have Happened Today in No Particular Order:
- Coming to school today, having awful time, late already. In our locker, (me and H's locker) we have a little white board. She had written an arrow to a picture of the Beatles below it with 'RINGO!' sideways pointing to Ringo. It made my day. :D
- Got my new glasses. I like them. Seeing sharply, very nice.
- apparently also breaking my ipod oh shit shit shit... Woah. I was trying to extract files to Xavier's notes files (Xavier is my ipod) and it froze so I tried to close it and THEN THE DESKTOP DISAPEARED and so I tried to minimize everything to find anything out and THAT WAS ABAD IDEA and then so I opened up ctrl-alt-dlt and double-clicked itunes and opened that up, ejected my ipod, and then shut down the computer and now all is well...hopefully.
- okay related to that thing that just happened, I found a thing where you can put books on itunes so I've got Sense and Sensibility on there (just testing it out really) and THEN I got all the free bits of With Strings Attached, the fantasy epic Beatles fanfiction novel and am trying to put it on there when it froze my computer. Totes worth it though. I love With Strings Attached. Trying again.
- Blake gave me a guitar pick to use on my ukulele. Makes it twang funny. Need a light pick, I think, since this was Blake's he used on his guitar or his bass guitar..
- watched the Office and Andy playing Rainbow Connection on the banjo. Now want to play Rainbow Connection on ukulele. Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what's on the other siiide...
- ugh, my glasses are freaking me out sometime..
- the first 21 chapters of With Strings Attached on now on my ipod. YAYYAY. When I finish reading these I'll pay the 3 bucks to download the whole thing off the internet...
- Beatles BOOTLEGS. awesomnesss.
i'm shaking, better be off to bed
but not before getting really obsessed with these beatlegs. grr.
Need a light pick, I think, since this was Blake's he used on his guitar or his bass guitar..

mwahah
My mom was asking me about some song her bf told her to listen to- so I was like, I'll dl it from itunes and so I did, and then she wanted like 4 more songs. It was like friggin' when you give a mouse a muffin. When you help mom download a song she knows, she'll want another. When you help her get another, she'll want a song she only know the title of. When you help you with that one, she'll want a song she doesn't know the title of but expects you too. Once you downloaded those, she'll want to burn a disc of love songs for her boyfriend. After helping her create a playlist of love songs for her boyfriend, she'll want you to put it on her music player. After she finds her music player, you try to explain to her it probably won't work because the music if from itunes and the Sansa and itunes don't compute, but she'll ask you to try anyway. Once you fail at that, she'll ask you to burn the songs to a disc. You politely explain we don't have any blank discs.
Gah. Most of the songs are, lol, The Beatles or Paul McCartney. Because we were getting the music from my itunes and the majority of my itunes is Beatles and Paul and George and John and Ringo. She had 4 songs she wanted for the disc and so I was like, how about this one? have you ever heard Led Zeppelin, mom? how about some PAUL MCCARTNEY? There's like 3 Paul songs. No More Lonely Nights, Let me Roll It, and something else ballad-y. and it's got BFS and some more of my music type of things. I kept suggesting The Who but it turns out her BF already looves the Who (in fact he's the one that told mom to get me Who's Next back in Christmas, which is awesommmee because the Who rocckk.) so we didn't put any Who on there. Huh gofigure.
Mhmm I'm Nanowrimo-ing for lack of better thing to do. It's surprisingly easy.
eta, later: Nanowrimo.org linked me to TVtropes. And now I'm watching Rock and Roll High School. TVTROPES.

it is really only sociably acceptable for women to wear mustaches 1/365 days
I was a pirate today. Hat, pirate jacket, toy hook hand, and a drawn-on mustache and beard. I look awesome in a mustache and beard. Secret: sometimes I wish I had a mustache. Sigh.
Went trick or treating. was fun. now ordering pizza online from Domino's. hunrgyy. lots of candy. candy is not food.
waiting for nanowrimo, yayay, starts at midnight. :D

tuneless
My ukulele is sort of in tune. And it's getting to the point where mom is like, "hey daughter, do you know a good place to tune that? YOUR ROOM. TRY IT."
but uh. I went to the eye doctor today. And am getting new glasses. He recommended I get a hair cut so my hair won't bug my eyes anymore. Will do, Mr Eye Doctor Man. Doctor Eye Doctor Man. Andand. So I want a Joan Jett haircut. Should print out picture and go to hair place and go THIS THIS THIS. So yeah.
Mom keeps on calling my ukulele a 'baby guitar'. Ukulele, mom.

my dog has fleas
That is the tune that's supposed help tune the ukulele. 'My dog has fleas' G C E A. I cannot tune it. I have like one or two right- G and A I think, or maybe just A, or just E, I dunno. I ordered a ukulele tuner. BUT it is adorable and I am getting the hang of playing this out-of-tune little monster.
Yeahh I got mah...ukulele. Sorry, forgetting things again. And the BFS CD and mah Beatles shirt. WHICH IS AWESOME. I feel like a BAMF in it.
Also, today's Teefury? Win. Haha Ramens. I...might buy it. Rrr. Buying too many things.
Called my aunt who gave me birthday money. Well, my mom called her then shoved the phone at me and said, 'Talk!' so I was forced to make awkard conversation. err thanks for the money, i bought a ukulele, yeah a ukulele, haha thanks yeah.
Trying to import new Bowling for Soup album onto itunes. I love BFS. They are so awesome. And hilarious. They're like a comedy rock band. LOVE.
I am rather happy for a Tuesday. Tomorrow is Wednesday. OHHH. Well for a while, I thought today was Wednesday. Explains why Glee isn't on tonight. So, yeahh.
Getting some Paul McCartney songs off itunes. No More Lonesome Nights and, mhm, something or another like...I forget, and...no, I forget again. I'll know it- SILLY LOVE SONGS. Haha, what year did Paul McCartney write Silly Love Songs? 1964, 1965, 1966...lol, Beatles jokes. Silly Love Songs is a nice song though. You'd think the world'd had enough of silly love songs...well, Paul would know, ahah. Pipes of Peace! that was the other way. Teach them to sing songs of joy instead of burn, baby, burn. Somewhere along the way onto finding this I downloaded All those Years Ago by George. Huh. Itunes, you've tricked me again. and Say Say Say. The one he did with Michael Jackson. Damnit, I love the video for it, the song is nice too.
So wait. Huh. Itunes is too easy to buy music from..WHAT THE HELL. I BOUGHT SAY SAY SAY AND IT SUGGEST SOMETHING BY WHAM! WTF WTF WTF WHAM! REALLY ITUNES. OH GOD. ARGHH.
Mhmm hmm bored. Syncing ipod and then knitting and ukulele-ing.
I shake a lot.

here i am
Time flies when you're not doinga damned thing at all.
On Friday, I went to the pumpkin patch with mom and her preschool class. Major fun. Got a pumpkin. Need to carve it. And then I didn't go to school the rest of the day because. uh, why not.
So I missed most-to-all of Homecoming Week. I find absolutely nothing wrong with this.
Yesterday we did shopping and things and then I spent the rest of the day on the computer. I got the movie Tommy, the rock opera by the Who. It was awesome. Roger Daltrey is a sex god. I'm just saying. He's goodlooking. Or was in Tommy anyway. Eric Clapton and Elton John were in it, too. Awesome. And andandand. The rest of the Who. Keith Moon is a crazy bastard. And John Entwistle is cool, did you know he was born the same day as John Lennon? well, date - October 9th, I think Entwistle was born a bit later...
And so today mom went to watch her boyfriend run a marathon about 2 hours away, so she was like, want to get up at 5 in the morning drive two hours and watch people run 26.2 miles? I laughed at her. I wasn't sure if she was going or not- but when I woke up this morning to findher not here but 10 dollars on the counter, I figured it out pretty quickly. Never say I ain't clever. Not sure if I'm going to spend the money on food as it is indended. I could say I ate and just keep the 10 dollars. Because hey, free ten dollars.
I dun wanna go back to schoool.
I should go take a shower...

got my mind set on you
I have that song crazy stuck in my head right now- listened to the album it's on, Cloud Nine, on the way to Spokane for the College Fair today. It is so damn catchy. Got my mind set on you. George Harrison. Anyway. College Fair.
Interested in University of Alaska. Dunno why. Alaska. Never been.
Cannot wait for my ukulele to come in the mail- should be here on Tuesday.
Also cannot wait for NaNoWriMo, for which I have a plot for. :D Yes. I'm gonna start writing like, midnight on Nov. 1. Very excited.
Dun wanna go to school tomrrow. Haven't been to school most of week.
Just thought of something- sometimes, our school has a talent show at the end of the year. If I'm very good by then- I wanna play the ukulele at it. Maybe I should start a ukulele band. Do I know anyone who plays music? Hmm.

So I'm gonna do NaNoWriMo, national novel writing month, and IT'SGONNABEAWESOME.
Also I was talking to a guy on the Teen chat on Ravelry, another Beatles fan like me, and he said he was learning Beatles songs on the uke. So uhm. I just ordered a ukulele. I knoww. I spend too much money. But I really wanna play music. So. That's what I'm gonna do. :D I'm excited. I bought a pretty cheap one- for 40 dollars. Right, I know. BUT. MUUUSIC. Gonna learn this thing.

64 ostriches
Went to Knowledge Bowl meet today. I was on a team with H, some preppy girl who is nice but preppy and a bitch sometimes, and a guy. We did well, although preppy girl always buzzed in too early and sometimes never bothered to consult with the team before answering. For instance: some question about accusing the CIA of lying to us, what government something or another said it in 2009. The other teams didn't get it, but it came 'round to us and I turned to C. to say, nancy pelosi? at the same time she gave our official answer as : Sarah Palin. Grrr. It was Nancy Pelosi. I got a few- a Mark Twain one (born and died on Haley's Comet), on Jackson Pollack, Bloody Mary, Typhoid Mary. There were no questions on Beatles. If there were, I would have pwned. Just sayin'.
Before the meet started, we were all sitting around talking and asking each other trivia questions. One of the boys asked "who was the boy in the Sixth Sense and Titanic movie?" and we all couldn't remember till C. called her dad and he told her it 'started with an h and a j and o..' and me and another girl were like..'haley...joel..halyjoelOSMENT" and like SCREAMED IT and this was like the main room where all the teams were. Everyone was looking at us. So we decided our go-to answer would be Haley Joel Osment, and at various times when he didn't have an answer: "Is it Haley Joel Osment?"
On the typhoid Mary question, which was something like, wherever Mary so-and-so went, this disease follows...another team had rung in and was like, "uh, syphillis?" and uh, no, but it was very funny and later on, when we didn't have an answer, we said "syphillis?"
Another one was a math one about something if you had 20 horses and ostriches, and x plus y equals something how many of each do you have? a team was like, uh, 7 horses...and 64 ostriches. So that was our go-to answer again.
My foot is weirdly swollen. I dunno, I got home and did some internet things and then I passed out on my bed till like 8- and I woke up and my foot is hurty and swollen. I am a napasauras. I love napping. Dude, I just made that word up? and Firefox is like, mehhh. I was so friggin' tired. I'm also knitting a hat- one of those neat button hats with the...uh...Noro yarn that I got. Since i have nothing else t do with it, lol.
I don't want to go to Government tomorrow because I missed the review day today since of the meet and stuff and erghh. I am prolly gonna fail. But I'm also not gonna be at school on thursday- another early morning, I'm going with ETS up to...a College Fair in Spokane. I keep forgetting what I'm typing, that's what's with the ... all the places. Anyway. Yeahso. College Fair. The college I wanna go to isn't there I think, so maybe I'll bunk around and talk to some folks.
I think..I'm gonna knit but it's boring.
I cannot beat Solitaire on my ipod. I tryandItryandItry (ohlord I TRY but i can't GET NO satisfaction, i can't get nooo saatisfaaactioonn no, lol the stones :D) but I cannot beat the damned machine. Oh I finished my ipod came thing I was knitting. It is gorgoeus. And the button is a little robot button. If I think about it I will take a picture and put it up..and everything else I've knit lately, hnn..

for trip
Tomorrow, going to Knowledge Bowl meet at 6:29 in the morning (yah he put 6:29. i've learned the hard way they leave at exactly 6:29.) so I'm downloading music off itunes.
I'm for definetly getting The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, but I want to get also: Goodnight Vienna by Ringo Starr and something (but not Something) by George Harrison. Maybe All Things Must Pass. Which is like 15 dollahs. ORRR Cloud Nine. Which is only 9. And awesomeness. So that and finishing Goodnight Vienna is uh wait. So wait. Since I've downloaded just some tracks from both Goodnight Vienna and Cloud Nine, it would cost 8 for C9 and 7something for GV. And with 10 for FBD, that's pretty good. I heart Bob Dylan. And Ringo and George. :D
The song Goodnight Vienna I really like. It's all DA-DA-DOWN to GOODNIGHT VIENNA.
Blahblahblah. I Think Therefore, I rock and roll. I've listened to this too many times. STILL AWESOME.
ohdamn david bowie maybe?! So muchawesomemusicsolittletime.

at some point in my life i have to accept that i suck
And am pretty lame and no one much likes me. I'm getting the hang of it, being a loser.
Anyway. I am pretty bored. As you can see on the left, I did do a sims beatles story. But it is pretty awful. but cute beatles.
I got a homecoming dress. If I go to homecoming. And an ipod case that doesn't fit my ipod. When I went shopping with mom today. And with dad, dad got my grape cigarillos. They're awful but it's something to stupid do. I shouldn't really but god, I'm so bored and why the fuck not. I'm learning how to hold my smoke- these grape ones aren't so bad.
Gah I'm so sick of everyone and everything. I kind of want to sleep and listen to Beatles music and knit and forget about anything else.

at dad's
So I've spent most of my evening here at father's making Beatles Sims and then taking pictahs of them. And so I'm doing a blog story thingy on the sim beatles. Dunno what to call it though. thebeatleassims...no that looks like the beatles ass ims. Mhm. Will ponder it over night while the screenshots upload. Sigh. To bed now.
...
I have I Think Therefore I Rock and Roll stuck in my head. 'To be or not to be, I don't care. The question is, are you alive out there?' is pretty good- senior quote good enough? 'It don't take much, just heart and soul, I think, therefore, I rock and roll.' I can't help loving this song.

ringo love
I can't help it, I love Ringo Starr.
I'm on itunes right now trying to convince myself NOT TO BUY ALL HIS ALBUMS but it's really hard. So'm just getting some songs- I Think Therefore I Rock and Roll, Snookeroo, The No No Song, Back off Boogoloo. The good stuff. Will not buy everything. Grr. Trying hard. I don't know what's come over me all of a sudden, this crazy Ringo love. Suddenly, that afternoon, an unexpecting teenage girl...
...
wow.
That was...weird. It was like 'suggestions?' at the top and (usually it's something ridiculous like Elton John) but it recomended John Lennon's How do you Sleep? and I was like, oh, BUY. Very quick. And too easy. Eep.

so yah
today I wore my beatle boots and my Bob Marley shirt I got random from teefury. In German, Mrs H was like, 'oohh i like your boots, those are fun'. Fun? Oh well. Compliments are compliments. Anyway. And actually. They are fun. She is total awesome though because for some reason she really likes me and here are my theories on that a) i was already in 2 years of French b) i am also a huge beatles fan c) i am awesome. I think it's some combo of 1 and 2. Or er. A and b. And so. Uh...what..was I saying? well yeah so she never really calls on me, seriously, it's very cool. But today we were learning hobbies and things and one of them was like 'listening to rock music' and I was like, gah call on me for that one. She did. And then asked me if I liked 'alt rockmusik?' and because I like totally blanked for a minute I was like, what? then, OH, yes, old music, YES. The student teacher who laughed at my dinosaur was back today. he was sick for a while I guess. I like him.
Listening to David Bowie. He's so funky. I love him. Oh! Starman! There's a starrrmaaan...
Nothing else exciting so like why do I even bother.
I was on time to school today. WTF, right? And worked throughout all first hour. and went to all my classes, holyshit.
OH my knitting and crochte club is tonight! Great Yarns. Should be pretty friggin exciting. I dunno, I just LOVE to get together with people who understand me when I talk of worsted weight and purling and straights and circs and GAUGE and all that. Me and another woman there, (my boss from the summer) always get into glaring arguments over what we call crochet hooks- I call them by the numbers and she uses the letters. Like I'll call it an size 6 hook and she'll be all, IT'S A G. I'm gonna teach H to knit a hat, too. I was like, GET WOOL YARN. It's warmer that way. I love wool. When it's cold. Can't stand it in the heat. but around now I am like, ohh so sofft and warm. Thank you, sheep. You guys are awesome. Dumb as rocks. But very cool...I haven't met a lot of sheep myself. I have a friend who's got sheep. And she's like: they're stoopid. Me: YR STUPID.
later, 5:30: I was listening to a Bob Dylan album. The Freewheeling bob Dylan. Amazing. Blake, at one point, from across the room, 'are..are you listening to Bob Dylan?' 'er, yes.' 'i..can hear the harmonica.' 'lol!' Now I'm listening to Ringo Starr. I can't help it. I friggin' love the guy. I Think Therefore I Rock and Roll? Goodnight Vienna? AWESOME.
Also, Keith Moon did an album and Ringo Starr was on a few tracks- HOW DID THEY NOT STAR THEIR OWN BAND CALLED liike 'Moon and Starr'? ohrite cos Keith died but STILL. WHYY. I want Ringo's christmas album. Crazy bad. I want all of his albums? he's so cheery and happy-looking all the time. I guess a lot of fans hate him for the 'don't send any more fan mail' thing which yes was a dick move but still. Ringo!
Listening to David Bowie. He's so funky. I love him. Oh! Starman! There's a starrrmaaan...
Nothing else exciting so like why do I even bother.

itunes will be my downfall
I know I've said it before but I'll say it again. If I use itunes too much I will have no money left. Last night I got The Who Sings My Generation. I love The Who. Right now I'm listening to The Kinks...on grooveshark. I just forgot what I was doing. That's what's with the ellipses. I like the Kinks. The British Invasion bands in general, pretty good stuff. So I'm bored. And. Yeah.
At a Halloween store last weekend, I got a pen that looks like a syringe. It is pretty nifty. So I use it in class, it's clicky and fun. Today, in English, my teacher came around to check if we did our paragraphs ('is Chaucer a feminist?' i said no) and he walks up to my desk and goes, 'AJ you have...a syringe. do you do heroin AJ? show me your arms.' so I showed him my arms and he was like, ' oh all right. let me see your paragraph. oh thank you, you're the only who agrees with me, you've just validated my existence.' I guess everyone else thought Chaucer was a feminist. I only said NOT a feminist because FEMINIST seemed to easy. Also very unlikely.
terrible thing: since a lot of kids were out of class today to take the PSAT (another terrible thing: I took the PSAT last year? and I had to take it on a Saturday morning. I CALL SHENANIGANS.) in my choir class, there was like 13 kids, so the teacher was like, yeah we're singing Imagine, which is what the jazz choir is doing. You know what ruins your favorite song? Some stupid bitches singing it like they even know the fuck who John Lennon was. One girl was like 'oh he was a Beatle'. Grrr. Yes. BUT SO MUCH MORE. A writer and peace activist and an awesome guy and an artist and genius.
Jesus, the Kinks are brilliant. I like music that makes noise. Know what I mean? Punk is good stuff. Sex Pistols and the Ramones, the Ramones, they're punk, I'm pretty sure.
It's cold here. Brr.
So here's something I want to do with my life but would never say out loud because it's ridiculous. I want to be in a band. Sort of a cover band. Here's what this band would do: we would take slow songs, err well, old songs, like take I'm a Fool to Want You. And turn it into a rock song. With electric guitars and some screaming voals. We'd also take rock songs- for something reason I think of Paint it Black when I think of doing this- and turn them into slow songs. Slow it down and croon it, like. Yeah.
Oh, it's cold and I'm shaking.
I recieved an email from the folks I ordered my shirt & buttons from last night- the transaction did not go through. Sonofabitch. I guess my debit card didn't work? but ordering from Amazon and when buying music from itunes, it works fine. WHAT. Maybe i'll just buy the John & Paul & Ringo & George one from Amazon? and a album or something, the Who's Tommy or something. Or The Who Sell Out. Er I have to clean up my Amazon wishlist anyway. Instead of writing out a Christmas list for my mom (it feels weird to do that at 18) I'll just link her to my Amazon wish list. Yah I think I'll buy this shirt from amazon, it's cheaper for one. I just really like Help! oh well.
later, 7:50: Aha, yes, gonna buy the shirt and the new Bowling For Soup album (I love Bowling For Soup. LIKE CRAZY. they are the only band who makes me laugh and can rock out. fuck and yes. and i know like all of their songs? by heart.) anyway, I dunno whether to buy a Medium or a Large shirt. Like, I know a Large will fit me, but sort of badly, so I wonder if a medium will work better? I should play it safe and stick with a large and shrink it in the wash if it's too big.
Ahh my mom caught me trying to buy things.
Then we went through this whole kerfuffle over this -but I NEED THIS SHIRT and if I buy a something worth 10 dollars, i'll get free shipping, do you need anything mom? and so she looked at proclaimers albums and then I figured out if i just bought the shirt, it would be two dollars short of if i bought a cd instead. So after much debating, bobdylanthewhoTHEBEATLES?bowiethestonesTHEWHOOOthekinkTHEWHO? i'm getting the new BFS album because uh, it's the only one that isn't already cheaper. Yeah? Okay.

many years from now
It is disturbing to me that my brother knows the lyrics of When I'm 64 so well.
I bring this up because we had a test in German today, and we had to write down the numbers- one of them was vierundsechzig. i wrote 64, and underneath it: 'wann ich vierundsechzig: when i'm sixtyfour?' My German teacher is a huge Beatles fan. I wonder if she grades the tests?
What else happened today. Not much anything very exciting at all. Maybe things well get awesomeber as I go along.
And now I've got When I'm Sixty Four stuck in my head. I was singing Rocky Racoon earlier. The Anthology version, in which Paul says "sminking of gin" instead of "stinking of gin" and Rocky Racoon is such a weirdly awesome song. I woke up this morning with it stuck in my head.
I froze a Twinkie last night and just remembered it. It is delicious. Mhm..
There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.
Another good Lennon quote. Well. Beatles. Since it's from All You Need is Love. At some point in their career, I think they stopped being "Beatles songs" and more like Paul songs or John songs and George songs and a Ringo song. Like. Like when I think Blackbird I think PAUL not THE BEATLES like that, you know, but I Wanna Hold Your Hand, that's not PAUL, that's THE BEATLES. If it makes sense. Which I doubt.
I'm borrredd. I should knit. And. Read? watch Help! again? grr. Or AHDN. Or Yellow Submarine. Or find a t-shirt to order...
Later, 9:45: Oh my does time fly. When you're doing nothing. Actually I went to Bi-Mart with mom and got beef jerky and then I came home and re-started my cowl a few times till I got it right. it is gorgeous yarn- MALABRIGO. And it's soft.
Oh, I ordered a shirt. Uh. The dark blue Help! one in a women's XL that I hope will fit. Really hope. Cos it was 20 dollars. And as long as I was buying from these folk, for shipping costs, I also got a pack of Beatles buttons-- Sgt. Pepper ones, and a thing of The Who buttons. I like The Who. And now the David Bowie button on my backpack will no longer be alone. Lonely David Bowie no more.
So this is weird, but I don't like it when people I don't like like the things I like. Did that make any sense? Here's an example. The Beatles are universal- everyone (pretty much) likes the Beatles. A lot more people love the Beatles and a fewer amount of them are really friggin' obsessed with the Beatles. I'm on my way to that but, like, not quite. Anyway what annoys me is when people I really friggin' hate like the Beatles. Like they're not good enough. Maybe I'm just possesive. Or crazy. Whatever.
I like tonight's Shirt.Woot. Not sure I'll buy it. I did buy 30 bucks worth of stuff online earlier today. Damn, it's a cool Help! shirt. I love Help! the album song and movie. Gwrr. I like the shirt doesn't go out and say BEATLES! but it has the cool h-e-l-p silhouettes and Help!. Rar. The other one I liked was, uh, oh I always love the Sgt. Pepper drumhead thing.

procrastinating
I've got this essay that was due today that I don't really wanna due and then email to my teacher. I'm very lazy. And tired. and i wanna knit. Damndamndamn.
I love Help!. It is less awesome than A Hard Day's Night but still pretty awesome. It has the Beatles so it can't be that bad, ha. And there's lots of George and random George-ness. I want to make a video compilation of the weird things he's doing in that movie- srsly, I'm gonna learn Windows Movie Maker so I can do that. Argh.
Terrible day. Need to watch AHDN or listen to Rubber Soul or With the Beatles or something, make it all better (every day, it's getting better, it's getting better all the tiime)
I was in the school library in advisory today- Can't Buy Me Love came on the stereo system, ever so faintly- but I picked up on it and started mouthing the words and tapping my foot along. Never figured out if it was a cd or just the radio.
hour later: i've decided I need a Beatles shirt. I'd kill for this adorable one in a adult's size. A is for Apple, B is for Beatles! but alas, only a toddler's shirt. I want the Help! motif thing on black but all it comes on is white- and I don't want like the generic The Beatles black one, youknow. This one is Help on blue. OMG. Beatles Shoelaces. Yellow Submarine in Japanese! Aha! Help on Dark blue in Women's, even. Wonder if there's a size chart? Shirtneeeed.

wow
Here's thing that just happened: I am opening up a tab for TVGuide and my mom sees the hat I'm been knitting and goes, oh that's awesome, and I'm like, do you want it? and she's like, no make yourself something but if you made me a hat, I'd want it longer, and I'm typing what I think is 'tvguide' as I say, longer oh you want a stocking cap? and she's like, something like that and I turn back to the computer and somehow, I am on a Male Enhancement website. WTH. I clicked tabbed out of it but I checked my history- apparently, I'd just typed the last word I'd said/heard into the URL bar and added .com and clicked enter. ergo, longer.com. Whoops.
Oh the keyboard is weirdly high up and tiring to type. I got a CD yesterday at a thrift shop- U2! Achtung Baby, which I hear is good, so yeah. Also at Goodwill today, they had all these records out, and even though I don't have a record play, I had to look. I found Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboys, the Elton John album, but it didn't have the second disc- and two Bob Dylans, one of which was scratched, so I just got the one Nashville Skylines. It's got a cool album cover. I'm gonna put it on a shelf by my Abbey Road poster.
I've been singing Got to Get You Into My Life and With a Little Help From my Friends all freakin' day. My mom stole one of my Paul McCartney albums- just the hightlights of some tour, she was playing that today, and GTGYIML we listened to like twice and, damn, it's catchy.
Ah'm bored. Need knitting patterns. Gonna do this Malabrigo cowl first. Or maybe a scarrf. Dammn. Pattern searching sucks. So I found, for cowl: this one is nice looks easy,
this one looks kinda tricky but really cool, and this one also tricky but nice, too. For mah malabrigo. Hmm.
Oh, I don't wanna take senior pics but I gotta, sometimes. I don't want some lame generic senior pic, I want something different. Well this hat I got- I like it, and I was going to bed last night (wearing..my hat, fine, yes, I wore my new hat to bed then figured out that wasn't such a good idea) and I had pulled my snuggie up to my mouth because my face was cold, and I caught sight of myself in the mirror- with the black hat and my bangs sticking out and my eyes all bright behind my glasses and the snuggie pulled up to my eyes- just my eyes were showing, I thought it was pretty cool. So maybe...wait, Blake distracted me. Okay, senior pics. Yeah. Some sort of weird shot of me, all bundled up in winter wear, preferably. A la that scene from Help! sort of, you know. Hats and coats. This cowl I'm gonna make, long enough to pull over my face. Or a picture of me, like, walking away, or a sort of windy/snowy wonky pic. I dunno. None of that made sense. I'm sorry.
Also I still have no idea about senior quote- I want something Lennon but something that fits me, too. Or a Beatles one, does George have any good quotes? he seems like someone who would.
Damn, it's cold. I'm cold.

today
Went to Spokane with mom and did shopping and whatnot. I got three balls of yarn- some browns/orange Malabrigo and rainbow Moshi Plus and some bright Noro Kureyon. And we went to Halloween stores- uh uh, she got some costume and I got a Gryffindor tie at one and an aviator scarf cos it was on sale, and at this other store I just wandered around, being tired and wanting to leave, until I saw the large collection of hats. I love hats. I had found this cheap aviator's cap, like one with fur and whatnot, and thought it was pretty cool so i sort of wore it around the store to find my mom- a worker must have overheard me talking about cos he came up to me and was like, here is this other aviatar hat- and it was much cooler, sort of leather-looking with buckles and the like. And I found a 'chaffauer's cap' which looks like the hat John Lennon wore in Help/A Hard Day's Night. Well, mine's a bit more, er, puffier? it puffs more, his is more flat, but it's a very cool hat for 4 bucks.
For Halloween this year I'm gonna be an aviator? or Amelia Earhart. AE has short hair. I do not. I want short hair. But I don't think I'll cut it for a Halloween costume..also, I look terrible with short hair- emphasizes my very round face, I am told. My face is not so round as they say it is. Anyway- so the scarf and the cap and I should round up a leather/leather-ish aviator/bomber jacket somewhere...not like I'm doing anything for Halloween, yah.
oh! this second costume store I was at, I was just wandering about and there's a '70s!' section, so I wander over to it; tie-dye and peace symbols and floral prints but something catches my eye- British Revolution! and British Explosion! costumes. OMG. I geek-freaked. Two Sgt.Pepper-esque costumes- but a dark green and a darrk blue and there were only 3 colors, wtf? so very cool, though. I was half-considering it- and then realized there cannot be simply ONE. You have to have four. I mean. I don't have any friends, so- no one would dress up with me. Also, again: all-dressed-up-and-nowhere-to-go situation here. The other one, Revolution! one was The Suit- their Ed Sullivan stuits, grey with the black colors- I wanted this. But for 50 dollars? and also, again, the Lone Beatle? sigh.
So this yarn- thisss yarrn. Malabrigo. Is gorgeous and brown-y colors with these splashes of orange and yellow in it- so at first I was like, HAAT but then I think the splashes of orange would look funky and not in a good way, so maybe a scarf or cowl. God, a cowl out of this would be awesome. So. COWL.
this Noro isn't alot of yarn and should stripe pretty I should think, so a hat, maybe a ribbed cap or something like that.
And I need to figure out this..fuck, Mochi Plus. It's rainbow and soft. WHAT to do? a hat maybe.
I'm getting distracted. ...yarn? patterns. rightrightright...very tired.
Watched Boondock Saints with my mom tonight. I don't think she quite appreciated it as much as my brother and me..

It is John Lennon's birthday. Also, Sean Lennon's. Happy birfday, guys.
Also tonight I went to the Kansas concert- fucking rocked. Simply and amazingly. It was so cold, too, my feet froze, and those dudes up on the stage kept rocking, they were like 'err it's cold we can't feel our fingers but here's a song you might know' DUST IN TEH WIND, WAATCHA.
Andand. I've got to do a few things before going to bed whicih suucks I am tired but anyway: a) copy out hat knitting pattern for car ride tomorrow b) get shops and shop adresses for trip tomorrow c) christ, mom's CD player in her car doesn't damn work- wonder if we can bring the portable one and if it will run off batteries? i've got some hella good CDs. d) mhmm what else...

they say it's your birthday
Yes. I listened to Birthday today while walking to school. Thanks Paul McCartney.
Nothing essentially uneventful has happened today- in the morning, mom and I went to Starbucks, she got a pumpkin spice latte and a scone and then at school, Frazier gave me a book, Sense & Sensibilit & Sea Monsters and some cookies. Aand. At lunch me & mom went to the grocery store- got some chicken strips and a drink and some candy and my "cake", which is a cheesecake, and she bought me some flowers. :D Pretty blue ones. Andthenso. My English teacher sang Happy Birthday to me but his twisted version 'death and dying everywhere, but it's your birthday, sin and sorrow' in a monotone voice into a toy microphone. Pretty epic.
I'm testing a theory- will my father call me and wish me a happy birthday? Mhmm. I mean-- it's my DAD, I'll be lucky if when he picks us up for the concert tomorrow night he says "wasn't yesterday your birthday or somethin"
later: 6:50 so after that bit up there, me and H went off for candy and strawberry cigarillos, which I couldn't technically buy since I don't have a state ID with a picture, so I gave her the money and she bought them, then we went and sat by the river and smoked them- it was weird. And tasted icky. We smoked one each and then, coughing, went to Arby's for getting-the-taste-out. While at Arby's- my phone rings. So I answer it and here is the following conversation.
Dude: Hi, is this Alyssa?
Me: (thinking it was the guy who’s the leader of a program I’m in) Yeah. Hi.
Dude: Hi, I’m (so and so), I’m the new (city) AirForce recruiter…
Me: Oh. Oh HO. Yeah?
Dude: Yeah and I was wondering what you were doing after graduating high school..
Me: Um. No idea. (distracted by Arby’s lady giving me food and my friend going ‘who?’) But I’m not really thinking, uh, military, cos, like, I’m not really in shape and I’ve got scoliosis, too.
AirForce dude: (some blabbering on how that wouldn’t really stop me from joining up) so what are you interested in after highschool?
Me: (wondering what sort of nerve this guy has to be calling me on my 18th birthday and inquiring) (also, HOW DID HE GET MY NUMBER) I dunno, I’m not really interested in anything, I don’t really…do anything, y’know.
AirForce JerkFace: What, you don’t do anything for fun or anything?
Me: Oh well of course I do things for FUN I mean.
Jerkface: So like what?
Me: Ahh…(mouthing to friend, ‘it’s the effing AIRFORCE) I knit.
Sergeant Jackass: You knit?
Me: I knit.
Captain Douchebag: Well, (losing where this conversation is going) you could use your knitting expertise and..knit..parachutes…
Me, sarcastically: Yeah, I’m gonna knit parachutes for the Airforce.
Seriously, This Guy’s Problem, What The Hell: Okay you don’t really knit do you, you’re just kidding with me.
Me, dead effing serious: NO. I KNIT. I REALLY DO.
Getting Fed Up With My B.S.: Okay well…are you interested in the Airforce at all, you don’t have to be, no pressure, so…
Me: Nah not really. Thanks for calling.
Just Wasted Five Minutes Of His Life On Some Weird Teenager: alright thanks bye.
Weirrd. And so,yeah, my dad did finally call. :D Yay! He likes me. And and he's taking us to dinner before we go to the Kansas concert. Oh did I mention, I'm going to a Kansas concert. The band, y'know, Dust In the Wind and Carry On My Wayward Son. No. I don't know any more songs of theirs. Does it matter?
Oh, I'm wearing a flashing Tiara Crown mom got me at Wal-Mart for a buck. I'm...not sure if it's stoppped flashing, but it wouldn't stop earlier.

18 somewhere
Here it's 10 but somewhere it's midnight and so somewhere, it's the 8th and so I'm 18 somewhere. Faulty logic. I'm actually not to gung-ho about this, this whole big 18 thing-- but y'know whatever.
Actually I've pretty much gotten all my birthday presents- Beatles Rock Band back in September and today, mom took me to k-mart and I picked out a Snuggie. Yes. a Snuggie. GO AHEAD AND LAUGH. It is dark green. I am wondrously warm. Ridiculous. And a chocolate bar and a pillow, but the pillow doesn't really count cos Blake got a pillow, too.
And Frazier (teacher i know real good) says if I'm early to school tomorrow, she'll give me a present- otherwise I have to wait for afterschool. And apparently there is a special 'early morning' prize. And Margo, who's in choir with me, was like, you better show up on time for choir, too. (I'm often late to choir due to the fact it's all the fucking way across school) and it took me a minute but then I remembered what class it was- they're gonna efffing siiing. I was like- MARGO WHY also mr legg doesn't even know who i AM and she's like, I TOLD HIM WHO YOU WERE aka the girl who's always late or not even there. And mom is taking me for a coffee during lunch and we're having steak for dinner but something or another, oh we're going to Spokane this weekend so that's why we're not going out. Exciting 18th- OH right, I think me and H are gonna go pick up some smokes or whatnot, just for kicks.
So in other news, I have the same birthday as Johnny Ramone. Which is kickass. I love the Ramones. I need to get a book on them. Damnit, I am such a fuggin' dork when I think of a band I like, I don't think of getting a CD of theirs- I think of getting a book on them. On the other hand, I really want I Me Mine by George Harrison. Oh! Maybe we can go by a Borders or Barnes&Noble in the city this weekend...
I love this Snuggie.

on the subject of footwear
I am the sort of person who puts shoes on and then wears them for the sake of shoe-wearing. It's weird. But most nights, I don't take my shoes off until after 11- when I go to bed, it's like, oh right: shoes. This happens most in the winter, cos my feet get cold without shoes. On Friday I had my shoes on until-oh at least 3. On Saturday I got them off before midnight, which was good. Well I'm wearing my Cons and if it were boots, slightly different story, because a) if I have any intention of doing anything else that night, the boots? not coming off. Especially beatle boots. Even if it's just a quick walk to the cop shop to get a pop from the soda machine, it's probably not worth the hassle of removing and then putting footwear back on, so I'll keep them on for the night. I just like wearing shoes. My boots I wear usually- combat boots, which I feel like a BAMF in, or my beatle boots if I'm feeling alright about them and not too self-consious about pointy shoes. When I'm not wearing boots I still walk like I'm wearing boot- which is to say, these very controlled movements, sort of this certain step I use - heelrollballtoes. So in these Converse I look rather like a doofus, walking all proper.
lalala, I'm bored. I've spent most of the night watching Anthology. 's great. Have I mentioned how much I love Ringo Starr? He's funny; but one of my favorite parts of the eps I watched, they were talking about doing Shea Stadium the second time and how they had less people, only 50,000 (Ringo: "oh nooo only 50,000") but so they showed this footage of the reporter at the Shea, reporting and asking fans all these questions, and they showed Neil Aspinall and Ringo talking about it, and they cut to George: "Oh wait, I don't remember going back a second time." LOL. GEORGE. I reallyyylike George, his music is kickass. Crackerbox Palace always gets stuck in my head whenever I hear it. I think Ringo Starr is something of a, well, nowadays, sorta a douchebag. But I still like him.
Argh I'm ranting again..
Shoes. Right. I like my shoes; I like wearing shoes, and I bring this up because it's like, have you ever thought about it, how often are you not wearing shoes?
So my mom says I have to go to school tomorrow. On time. And all the classes. And every day this week. It's a joke between us- (ALSO HOLY SHIT I HAVE SOME FUCKING HOMEWORK DUE I JUST REMEMBERED IT, fucking GOVERNMENT class shitshitshit) where the night before school I'll go, "so, wait. let me get this straight. i have to go to school tomorrow?" and she'll say, "oh well, yes. now that you mention it." and i'll be, "so on a level on 1-10..." so she'll say, "11. it's definetly, you have to go." and, me: "and this is like, 100 hundred percent?" so she'll be, "right. of course you could just drop out and join the circus..." and to finish it, me, being serious: "do not tempt me, woman."
I better go to this Government class thing, a worksheet on the Constitution. Which I find interesting. But BORING. so I'll put on some Lennon or that new Paul album I got and see if I can finish it, sonofabitch.

Today I played a lotta Rock Band & hung around the library & went to Goodwill. in reverse order.
I am getting hella better on RB drums, I tell you what. Played for about two hours straight, now I'VE GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS! sorry that's from Helter Skelter, I really do though, from clutching drumsticks. There's a Achievement on the game called I've Got Blisters on My Fingers, which is beating Helter Skelter on Expert Drums. It is my life's goal.
Anyway- so I've spent the evening watching SNL and Let It Be and planning Being Eighteen Fucking Years Old with Heather, which at this point seems to be: on October the 9th (I'm turning 18 on the 8th, she's 18 today), well, here's what I proposed to her and bear in mind, we are bored teenagers, now legal: smokes & wine & Lion King. Let me clear that up- I've figured out the Things You Can Do When 18. 1. Buy tobacco. I don't like smoking, I disaprove wholeheartedly, (sidenote: I am easily brainwashed, aka, I watch all these videos of the Beatles smoking and I think, that's HOT but I rememebr GEORGE DIES OF IT but ahem, still) but it's more of the idea that now I can totes buy cigs if I want them. I don't want cigarettes, I want these cigarellos that are, like, grape-flavored and stuff. Kody had them on his 18th. 2. What was I talking about? Oh Things Can Be Done at 18. Vote. Which I plan to do. Early and often, as the saying goes. 3. Buy porn. Redudant, thanks to the internet, but worth saying. I'm...not going to buy any porn. Honestly. 4. Get a tattoo. Well, apparently, since the Allen Family Tradition (Kody did it, so it is? he says.) is Getting A Tattoo On Your 19th Birthday, so we'll see in year. 5. Join the Army. Not. Happening. 5-no, sorry, 6. Order things from infomercials. Again, with the internet, sorta redudant, but I had forgotten this one and got all excited when someone told me. FUCK AND YES. As another sidenote: I am pretty surely getting a Snuggie for my birthday. Awesome? YES.
Anyway- so our Being 18 thing. H's dad is pretty much yah I'll buy you alcohol so she likes wine so we might do that, but keep it on the downlo, hush hush, you know, not quite legal for us to be drinking at 18, but honestly I like Mike's hard lemonade, I'm trying to sway her to get that. She doesn't like my 'smokes' idea but I just like wanna tryyy even if it's retarded; I know smoking is retarded. I'm not a retarded teenager and for once, I sorta wanna be one. Even if it's a grape-flavored cigarello. And my mom doesn't want me to. So there's one for it, anyway. So my idea is we go to her house, drink and smoke and be retarded teenagers, watch some Disney movies (well, what else?) and then I'll stagger home smelling of grape smoke and huckleberry wine, late at night so mother will not be the wiser, and all's well that ends well really. Ah, carefully planned rebellion never tasted so good. I'm only writing all this Sorta Illegal/May Not Even Happen stuff because honestly I'm pretty sure no one reads this blog, like, ever. Which I like so I can say stuff like that up there.
So it's almost 3, gasp, and here I am typing away. Well I was gonna go to bed but Sandy (da's gf) came out and said a thing that was pretty funny so I wanted to document its hilariousness and then I got distracted with that there prequel and stuff, so anyway here's what happened.
Me, at computer: hi.
Sandy: your dad just suggested we be JOHN AND YOKO for halloween
Me: WHAT, (collapsing in laughter)
Sandy: I KNOW that is what I SAID
Me: JOHN AND YOKO
Sandy: yeah like WHAT that wouldn't even work
Me: cos like JOHN is SKINNY and also you guys look NOTHING--
Sandy: I KNOW because like of shapes of their faces and the HAIR
Me: ahahaha that's madness, hilarious
Sandy: (as she goes back into dad's room) I ratted you out, Alyssa is laughing her ASS OFF
To be fair I was. Cos it is a pretty funny idea. I think my mom's bf would make a good John- he is crazy skinny and has a gaunt face and with a wig and some granny glasses he would be a scary good Lennon but mom as Yoko? nahh well maybe with some puffy black hair, ahah.
The late night is getting to me, I am going maaad with sleepiness? or not so much, mhmm
On the weekend of my bday- I think mom and me? are going to Spokane for Happy Fun Mother/Daughter Time/Shopping. BUT all I wanna do (is boogaloo, oh fuck you Ringo Starr and your damned catchy songs) is go to see the Toy Story 1/2 in 3d at the IMAX up there, which it may or not be there, I've not idea and should surely google it but hey, it's almost 3 in the mornin' and mhmm, I got two new CDs today -Lennon Legend and Band on the Run. Well what else. I need to get more Harrison stuff, I am sorely lacking in the George Harrison division. As far as Ex-Beatle Beatle music I have, legally, it's now 3 Pauls (Tripping the Live Fantastic, Flaming Pie, and Botr), 1 Lennon( that one I just said) 2 Ringos- Time Takes Time and Ringo, and yah no George. WTF. Well I have one track from Cloud Nine- When We Was Fab, cos I lloove that song, got it off itunes, and I have All Things Must Pass on youtube vids somewhere on my ipod but those don't rly count oh my god I should go to bed, shitshit.
I think if I ever started a band I would call it, like, I'm Not A Robot or Sometimes I Wish I Were A Dinosaur. It would be a pretty awful band.
