here is a fun game

It's called take a sleeping pill and stay awake. It's trippy. Yesterday we had only pain/sleep pills, not just pain pills but I was in pain so I took a sleep/pain pill. The pain went away but I was real sleepy. Now, two pills will knock me out, but I've not tried this without purposely going to sleep, but it gets really trippy trying to stay awake like that.

This whole Beatles thing is taking over my life. Gah, it's almost like it's 1964 for how much time I spend day-dreaming about John or Paul or George. Oh and Ringo, too, he's cute. I just, yeah, well. and then I put pictures up in my locker - and I have some for my wall like that's gonna help. Hmm.

It's ridiculously hot, I think i will put a skirt on before I watch 'A Hard Day's Night' again.

i get distracted easily

Since I keep forgetting to eat dinner/lunch whatever. I blame everything on John/Paul/Ringo/George. So today I buy a flashdrive so's I can put some pics of the fab four on it and bring it to school and sneakily sneakily print out the pics so I can adorn my locker with them but I get distracted by t-shirts and youtube videos and I haven't even put the pics I have onto my flashdrive yet. Hmm, issues. The more pictures I see the more I love them and the more a secret I have to keep it. I'm not sure if it's normal but I dun really care. Blake keeps on making fun of me when he catches me listening to the music or looking at pictures or bombarding him with information 'hey did you know that Ringo Starr...'. Whenever I bring up Ringo Starr Blake laughs and quotes the Family Guy skit (Ringo Starr writes a song) but I love Ringo (and he's a cute dancer). and Yellow Submarine. Hey, I figured it out all by myself: Ringo sings that one. And Paul does Yesterday and Penny Lane and Eleanor Rigby and John does I Wanna Hold Your Hand and Come Together and George does, uh, Blue Jay Way. Ha, I like Blue Jay Way, though. In the movie Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (which is a pretty funny movie) he goes and visits the Beatles in India and it's freaking hilarious and awfully sort of true. Beware of strong language and Jack Black this way. Haha. I'm sick of you being so dark when I am so impish and whimsical.

i'm a mocker

So because this is my Friday night, I went on Youtube and found A Hard Day's Night, which if anything solidified my absolute love for the Beatles. Even though sometimes, I am like, 'dude what did John just say stupid accents and mumbly Brits'. The interview scene and JohnintheBATHTUB scene were my favorite bits, but just the whole thing really. They're so adorable.

This was the wrongest (yeah i said wrongest get over yerself) time for me to get Beatlemania, honestly, I was just on a bout of Sinatramania (er, no, that doesn't work as well, ha) and today I was planning to watch the 24 hour Sinatra movie marathon on TCM but as it was I was busy listening to music (not just the beatles but other folks as well) and then watching AHDN I only stopped to watch the scene in ohhh High Society , the 'well did you ever?' song/duet between Bing Crosby and Frankie because they're like, the best singers and here they are getting drunk and dissing people in song.

also I really want all the remastered Beatles cds, Amazon sold out of the sets of all of 'em, but I might ask for it my birthday or like, just buy it with my own money, cos it's prolly worth it.

mm

This morning, while taking a shower, I realized that the previous night I had forgotten to eat dinner. Simply slipped my mind. Weird.

I bought this shirt, A City Built on Rock 'n Roll and I'm listening to all the bands listed on the shirt, most of them I've heard. My favorite Beatles song right now is 'With a Little Help From My Friends' mostly because I love John Lennon and the way he sings 'mm, I get high with a little help from my friends.' It's the 'mm' bit that always gets me. (eta: although apparently it's Ringo, so let's go with that; I still love that song, also I am a Beatles noob, please forgive me)

Oh my god. Aerosmith did the Spider-Man theme? Shit, that's awesome. Almost as good as when the Ramones did it. HEY. Why isn't the Ramones on my shirt? They're rock 'n roll. Damn, I love Ramones.
Another one of my current Beatles fav. songs is Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. For the title, for one thing.

thanks amazon

For letting me purchase NOT ONE BUT TWO! books on The Beatles today for only 9 bucks WITH SHIPPING. I got Shout! The Beatles something or another generation and John Lennon: the Definitive Biography, which I suppose isn't nearly but it portrays him in a nice light, so I'll start with that one and move onto the ones where he is portrayed evilly and have all my illusions shattered. It's the only way to go about life, really. Illusion-shattering. Like Frank Sinatra. I went and read the book that made him seem like this awesome, totally flawless man when in reality he had many flaws and Mob ties and such.

i find myself becoming more and more obsessed with the beatles

This is not a bad thing. In fact, The Beatles are brilliant. (is it The Beatles or just the Beatles?) It's just, when I become obsessed with something, I become obsessed. And in short bursts, usually. Yesterday it was A Very Potter Musical and then last night I watched The Beatles Anthology on VH1 and wham, again, Beatles obsession. Mostly centering around John Lennon. Who's a fucking genius. I spent my 5th hour class (foods, where we watched a video on sanitary blah blah) drawing John Lennon, with the bowl hair cut and the suit, labeled 'pre-groovy'. His eyes were tricky to get, he has very nice eyes. And now I'm pre-ordering the remastered albums from Amazon (Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and maybe Abbey Road). I can't fucking help it, they're so awesome. I really like With A Little Help From My Friends.

I don't like school, in general, but it's not too unbearable. Shock! It has something to do with the disctict lack of MATH and also I don't have much friends in any of my classes. I call this a win because it turns out I don't like a lot of my friends. I find it preferable, usually, to spend the hour reading or ignoring the teacher or not working, but I do have to work sometime.

There might be something in the oven cooking but then I would have to get up and look at the oven and open it. Surely it's too hot for being in school already. Holy shit.

Today in choir, we were put into our ah whatever it is, singing voice type or whatever. 4 years ago I was an alto but now apparently I'm a metzo or mezzo or however you spell it. I don't know what this means and I don't like it.

26 August 2009

school, first day

Our classes were 17 minutes because we went from 12:35 to 2:40 cos of frosh orientation before that. So. My boots did eventually kill my feet (and I even have insoles for them!) but it's the second day I've worn them, I think they just need to be worn in. And I wore dark blue jeans and black and white belt and t-shirt: The Madness of Mission Six, the spooky Pacman one. I think some kid complimented me on it, but we were leaving class and I think he said my name and then 'nice shirt' but I couldn't really hear him. Oh well. Anyway. Quick reviews/thoughts about classes:
1st hour: Digitools/Micro Computer Applications with Mr. Kelly. We're doing computer stuff, typing, Word, and Powerpoints. Sounds easy but boring. Hoping to show up. Mr. Kelly seems alright but boring.
2nd hour: WA Gov./US Gov. with Mr. Cowdrey. He had a cool 'intro' thing on the screen, and at the end it said "42 IS THE ANSWER" and he asked if anyone knew what that meant. I was like, uh duh, and he was like, yess. Cool guy.
3rd hour: German 1 with Frau Hays. I took two years of French with Mrs Hays, she's very nice and a good teacher. Before class, she was like, so you decided to take a year of German as a senior? I was like, yeah and I missed you, so. My brother Blake is in this class, which is weird, but okay.
4th hour: Choir with Mr. Legg. Why did I join choir? Not sure. There are 50 people in that class. Grr. If I switch out of any classes, this'd be the one.
5th hour: Foods/Nutrition with Mrs. Romesburg. Bit of backstory here: in my freshmen year, I had Romesburg for Personal Choices, a very reduntant and pointless class. Also, it was first hour. So I was late most of the time and when I was there, I was snarky and mean and loud and joking. She doesn't like me. AND then in the Clarkston Courier, I wrote something about her (cos she ASKED (well I wrote things about other teachers, too)) and she verily got all pissed about it and so when I walked in today, she said, "ah I see we have a writer in our midst." and then something along the lines of 'how dare you', but whatever. It's only a semester class, I do love to cook, it's kind of fun to have a nemesis, and there's a girl with blue hair who was nice to me so that was pretty fun.
6th hour: Brit Lit with Mr Piper. I hear great things about Piper. He's pretty cool. Apparently, we are doing 3 essays in this class. omg. In the AP classes I've been in, we've done like, 2 or 3 a month. Madness. However, we are reading Dickens. DAMNIT.

And then I went into Frazier's class and me and Heather showed her the Very Potter Musical and she mocked us for knowing the lyrics. Ah well.
I am going to find something on TV, take my boots off, make myself a creamsicle drink and start knitting my DW scarf. (the needles came and holy shit, they are gorgeous.)

25 August 2009

so tired

I am just tired. I really don't want to go to school tomorrow. It's my last year I know, I should totally be all 'yayy' but I'm not and I don't want to be because I just don't care about anything, most of all school. I mean. Things I Care About (and let's define care, here, in that I enjoy this, I want to do more having to do with this, I actively go out of my way to participate or show interest) : tv shows, my family (and only two of them, anyway: mom and blake, because I live with them, kody's in bahrain and dad is, well, dad), yarn and knitting but only sometime and sort of, and is it sad I have to really think about this? T-shirts. I really love t-shirts. And buying them. God. I'm pathetic but I really don't caaare.

24 August 2009

the army navy store carries body bags

I know, right. Is weird.
BUT my father DID buy me boots from the Army Navy Surplus store. They are combat boots. Or, ah, Rothco Jungle Boots and they were the cheapest boots there but STIIILL. I has boots. They are badass. I love them. They need good insoles.

School in two days. ;( SAD FACE AJ.

I got my yarn for DW scarf in the mail, did I mention this? It is gorgeous. Unfortunetly, it is all in hanks and I have no ball-winder so I will have to do it all by hand. It's like 8 skeins. Grr. And my needles from Knitpicks haven't come yet. But my belts and Bowie button did. Haven't tried belts on yet (cos they're at mom's). Little Bowie button is adorab. Ooh it's little David Bowie, I said when I got it. Look at little Bowie. Belts are thinner then I expected. Hmm, thinner, I mean in width, not in like fabric-wise. If they fit well I'll order more from the site, they're quite neat. Skinnier, is what I mean.

Gah, and I ordered that 80gb iPod from the other night. Say I tell someone. 'Oh btw Mom i ordered an iPod.' 'oh really?' 'yeah it's 80gb.' 'WHAT EIGHTY?' 'yeah but see here it's actually a bit cheaper then the 8gb nano I was eyeing, seee?' 'oh alright.' So I've got that in the mail and, ah, shirt from unetee and teextile and shirt.woot. Too many shirts? NO SUCH A THING. BLASPHEMY. If Shirt.woot has randoms anytime soon I will be buying 3. Or if Teefury, too. I have not enough Teefury shirts.

What the hell Hulu. I am loading an epi of Buffy and one of Psych and they're not LOADING.

So I am going to knit socks, y'know, got a book and everything. I need uhm. Needles. For socks. Yeahh. I have yarn. Got to get needles. I'll be doing the easiest thing imaginable- Doctor Who scarf, aka garter stitch and color changing, to the hardest (or I think it is, my skill level-wise) - SOCKS.

I am bored and it seems like it should be later in the evening, prolly cos of sleeping schedule is off but I give no damns at all. hnn.

Mhm, something a bit weird happened to me today. So I wandered into St. Vinnie's, which is nextdoor to the Goodwill (across the river, anyway) and I went in to look for pants for Blake (for job interview) but I ended up buying Spider-Man shoelaces (which is a weird thing, really, because my freshman year of high school I wore Cons with Spider-Man shoelaces). Anyway. They said '80 cents' on it but they guy (cute cashier boy) only charged me 68 cents. And, he complimented my shirt. Huh. I'm checking the reciept and it says '20 % discount'. There might have been some sort of sale..

22 August 2009

out of sorts

I haven’t cried in months but tonight I broke that streak.
It all starts with me agreeing to go to this barbeque/party thing with my dad. It’s at his cousins and their version of a party is a keg and some food. Yes, there’s a keg. And my dad’s girlfriend and a bunch of his friends and his cousins and their friends, so I know barely anyone and I don’t exactly fit in anyway, seeing as I don’t get drunk or drive motorcycles or watch football, but my brother, Blake, fits in perfectly and they all love him for being just like them, or at least he will be like them in 10 years. I mostly hide in the truck or play my Gameboy and so no one really talks to me but at one point, they all start talking about how awesome Blake is and how he’s exactly like them and he’s so cool and here’s the thing : I AM STANDING RIGHT THERE. I mean, it’s like they didn’t even notice me- and they probably didn’t, because I am shy and smart and quiet and bring books to parties and wear glasses and don’t drink, so I stalked off to the truck where I started crying because apparently, I don’t fit in anywhere. I don’t hate Blake or anything, which is weird, I just hate how I don’t fit in with my dad’s family or my mom’s family or with anybody, really, at school or anywhere so it’s a little sad. And my dad tried to comfort me, drunkenly, but mostly he just ended up making me feel worse.

That's what I just posted in the Rav Teens Knit and Crochet group Irritation thread. I might walk to the store but I'm not sure if I should do that at like 11 at night. Hnn?

21 August 2009

just a thought

So I loves me some Buffy the Vampire Slayer and all, but I do have to wonder why no one on the show ever wonders why three teenagers constantly hang out with the school librarian. I mean really.

And I think I'm going to buy the 80gb ipod that's on sellout.woot today. For pretty cheap methinks.

i do heart threadless

I got my three Threadless shirts, today. Madness of Mission Six, A Hug is my Favorite Adhesive, West Side Rumble. They are, as usual, GORGEOUS. They are a little tight but I had the same problem with my first two, and after they get washed they are perfect. ( I know this cos I am wearing THIS is how the world ends right now.) Anyway. Madness of Mission Six is so very awesome I think I will wear on the first day of school. Wednesday. Agh, school. Damn.

20 August 2009

looking back, not so good

Accidentally I bought another t-shirt this morning. And by 'accidentally' I mean, WHY THE FUCK DID I and/or IT WAS ON SALE SO I HAD TO. It's City Built on Rock And Roll from Unetee, which I've wanted for a long time but was waiting to go on sale and NOW I AM DONE WITH T-SHIRTS. So things that are being shipped and really should being shipped to me: Choose Wisely from...oh, right Teextile. 3 tees (a hug is my favorite adhesive, the madness of mission 6, and west side rumble) from Threadless, Donut Panic! from shirt.woot, two belts and Bowie button from Body Punks, 52 dollars worth of yarn from Yarncountry, needles from Knitpicks, hnn...and that Unetee shirt. And I'm pondering buying Brisco County Jr. or something else Bruce Campbell.

Oh what I did that was not such a good idea was that my bike had a flat tire but I did have to go home so I walked ALL THEWAY THERE (it's like 5blocks, take about 8 minutes) in THIS HEAT (it's like 90 something and I'mwearing PANTS) and I wore my silver mocassin shoes. LIKE what. At mom's I just laid around and watched Tales from the Darkside which was cool. It's air-conditioned here, though. I got two sodas and some beef jerky at the shop at the end of the block. I'm going to add cream to them, one's orange and one's grape, and see if they taste very good.

19 August 2009

my days are a chronicle of buying things

Today, I got paid, so I went and deposited the check and then went to Wasem's for an bottled Italian Soda and then to Scherman's for beef jerky and the rest of the I played Sims.
After dad got off work we went to Goodwill, where I went book-crazy because Mom doesn't it like it when I buy book. SO. Books I got at Goodwill:
All Creatures Great and Small. I heard the show is very good, with the 5th Doctor.
Top Secret Recipes. Like Twinkies, Big Macs, etc etc. Looks like fun.
Oh this isn't a book, it's Mystery Science Theatre 3000, Mitchell which looks great. Heard a lot about MST3000 but, shh, never watched any of it. UNTIL NOW.
Ahaha, I saw this and had to get it: it's a Knight Rider book. Win/fail? Can't decide. Still. It's got teh Hoff on the cover. This should be fun.
Casino Royale. I have a thing for James Bond books. So sue me. It's an original-looking one, too.
Dress Your Family in Cordoury and Denim by David Sedaris. He's funny.
AND I got to go to HASTINGS! where I wandered about the store with Blake o'following and I found 2 At a Time Socks USED so it was like 9 bucks. Yay!

And this evening I finally got around to ordering yarn for my Doctor Who scarf. Cascade 220 is 6.50 a skein. Eep. With shipping, came to about 60 bucks. And then I ordered the needle tips and circular thingy from Knitpicks, the Harmony Needles cos they are fucking gorgeous and worth the 15 bucks prolly. I am excited to knit this. 12 feet of garter stitch. Oh dear god.

I'm wearing this shirt, Count Von Body Count, just google it whydontcha, and it's my new favorite. It's my second Teefury but the first I've got in a women's size and it's PERFECT and only a little see through. The printing is a little off. Nothing that will bug me terribly. Glorious shirt. I need to do laundry. HNNN. and order Adventures of Brisco County Jr there is NEVER ENOUGH BRUCE CAMPBELL ANYWHERE. Made of AWESOME.

18 August 2009

there is no foood in the houuse

We are at dad's. There is hardly any food. Sad-making.

I got registered for my senior year today. FSHAW. First, they had me in, errr, Med Science, Accounting, German 1, Floral Design, Government, and AP Comp. I was like ERROR ERROR. And went to get it fixed (only after two hours wherein which I dined at McDonald's alone and then waited for mom to get her hair done and played Pokemon Red) and so now it's, ah let's see, Micro Computer Applications, Government, German 1, Choir, Food/Nutrition with Photography second semester, and English 4 B. Whatever that is. If I pass all these I will graduate. WOOT!

I spend today playing Pokemon and Sims and finishing watching A Very Potter Musical. "I love all of you guys. Except you, Draco, you're fucking annoying."; "Look into your heart, Draco, what do you really want?" "I want..I WANT HERMIONE GRANGER andarocketship."; "That is a boss Zac Efron poster."; "Squirt? Only that Harry Potter likes Squirt, I'll stick to my Red Bull."; "...and finding out what real Hufflepuff is, anyway."; "What the hell is a Hufflepuff." It is remarkably quotable.

16 August 2009

goodness gracious

I have been watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer a lot lately. It is badass. And awesome. And am I weird for thinking Giles the librarian is so very, very sexy? Just a bit, probably. It is the bookishness and Britishness, I think. Anyway. Kickass show, very funny, well it's Joss Whedon after all, that man is a god among men.

oh, my

The English language does not have the words to describe how badly I want to see that Zombieland movie. Or how awesome it looks. ARGH.

15 August 2009

here i am face to face with a situation i never thought i'd have to face

That's a line from A Very Potter Musical I just caught myself singing. "Granger Danger" is the song, one of my favorites so far, in that I have watched the first act. It. Is. AWESOME.

So well the things is, I start school on the 26th and I JUST FOUND OUT there is gonna be a TWENTY FOUR HOUR FRANK SINATRA MOVIE MARATHON on TCM on AUGUST 28. WHAT THE HELL, TCM. COULD YOU SCHEDULE THIS A LITTLE BETTER. LIKE MEBBE THE 25th. Needless to say I will apparently be watching 18 hours of this. I am contemplating missing school. Well, here's the schedule.

Okay, yes. I AM A FRANK SINATRA GEEK. I was just reading a book about him. BY his daughter. Very interesting. My favorite Sinatra book I've read is The Way He Wears His Hat which was the first one I read. It mentioned nothing of his Mob ties or beating people up or adultery or alleged Communism. And then I read HIS WAY or something and it freaked me out, saying he beat up a reporter and cheated on his wife NUMEROUS TIMES but now I'm used to it More often the not, I am rather obsessed with Mr Sinatra. And by association, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, and all their movies and songs.

13 August 2009

oh bollocks

Just got my two Threadless tees in the mail today. If I didn't know this before, Threadless = love. Gorgeous shirts. Love the printing. Need more. I'm debating on buying a 15 dollar one that I love and a 8 dolla one or two 8 dollar ones. Orr maybe a 10 dollar one what I did not even look at. The 15 dollar one, Twenty if By Giant Robot, is by an artist I really like, Robbie Lee, but I haven't got any of his shirts yet. It's a giant robot with the UK flag on it, and maybe that's all that needs to be said. I need it. Ergh.
Also I wanna iPod. Next paycheck I'll buy one.

11 August 2009

The Clarkston Courier, aka my secret shame what made me sort of famous and widely known and also pissed some folk off.

Holy shit. I can't find them. I wrote like 15 of these. They're on the computer somewhere but the 'search' function isn't working WTF. But I did find this satire piece I wrote back in December for English, in the vein of my CC work, and it's quite hilarious. Tell me what you think:

House, Senate to Moonlight for Bailout

With the economy in recession and Congress bailing out major corporations willy-nilly as if willy-nillyness were written into the Constitution itself or at least an Amendment, Americans have to wonder: Who’s paying for all this, Congress? Because we sure ain’t. Come on, Congress. We just bought a new plasma TV and we’d totally rather have the television instead of, you know, paying for those rich son of a guns so they can buy yachts and privates planes and, I don’t know, Olympic-sized swimming pools full of pudding. Heck, why do rich guys need so much pudding?

Today it was announced that many drastic measures would be taken in the Less Money, Mo’ Problems Act. In this Act of Congress, a variety of steps would be taken to alleviate the taxing of Americans. Critics and pundits are skeptical, saying, “What, is this a joke? A government paying attention to and caring about its citizens? Inconceivable.” The major part of this act is clearly to somehow raise more money for this bailout. Consequently, it is now forcing House and Senate, Governors and Senators alike, to take second jobs so as to add to the money needed for the bailout.

Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut has taken the first step and set up a lemonade stand in his hometown of Willimantic, Connecticut. “It’s going pretty well, I guess.” Senator Dodd says, and sighing, he adds, “The only problem I have is I can’t get the lemon-to-sugar ratio quite right. This is so much harder then Senator stuff!” Dodd huffs tiredly as he squeezes lemons into juice. Despite his best efforts, profits are declining steadily. He blames the competition down the street. “Girl Scouts!” He growls, his face red and glistening with sweat. “ That’s what’s wrong with the economy, I tell you…Girl Scouts and their stupid delicious lemonade…secret ingredients, they say…bah! What do they know? I was elected, I’m the longest serving U.S. Senator… in Connecticut history!”

Other government officials have tried to get jobs. “You won’t believe it!” exclaims former Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin. “I applied for a job at Starbucks, those Marxist-loving elitists, and they wouldn’t hire me! Oh, boy, I told them, if I can hunt wolves from a helicopter with high-powered rifles then I sure can make a double Frappo mocha coffee something, you betcha.” Governor Palin has, since then, been hired by a turkey slaughterhouse in Alaska. “The Christmas spirit, there, it’s really evident, ‘cuz the turkey is, y’know, the patron saint of Christmas.” She says.

President Elect Barack Obama has been doing his part, too. “John McCain and I have started our own lawn-mowing business.” He remarks proudly. “I think this act is a very good idea, and for me and John, it’s a way for us to share ideas and discuss the economy while helping.” John McCain says of their partnership, “Oh, yeah, it’s great but did you know they have motorized lawn mowing devices? With engines and everything. Like them horseless carriages that are all the rage with the younguns.” The business, called, Mcbama’s Lawn Mowing Service, is doing quite well with both Republicans and Democrats.

Even President George W. Bush has decided to help out. “We’re having a yard sale.” he announced. “Yep, me and Laura, we’re going to sell some of the White House stuff for the economitics problems.” Some of the items to be sold are: John F. Kennedy’s comic book collection, Richard Nixon’s tape recorder, one of Gerald Ford’s many Ace bandages, a can of Jimmy Carter peanut butter, and many of George W. Bush’s Texas Rangers merchandise that nobody wants. Bush says that he expects the yard sale will go quite well. “Well, people seem to be thinkin’ this whole recession is kinda my fault, so I thought I better help out. Then again, it’s not like I really need to try anymore, is it? Heh, heh.” Bush adds that Vice President Cheney might even donate some items for the yard sale, but Dick Cheney could not be reached for comment, due to fact he has taken Joe Biden on a hunting trip for a few days.

With this new act in place, Americans can be assured that, for once, their government is, at least, trying to help them. By bailing out those companies, the government is in need of funds they don’t have, so by getting these jobs they are funding the bailout that was all their fault in the first place.

eta: I fucking hate Times New Roman but I am very lazy. As mentioned. I really want to find those Courier docs...

maybe

So what I like to say is 'I'm not a [noun] but I do [verb].' Like. I'm not a artist but I do draw (badly). I'm not a singer but I sing. I'm not a writer but I write. WAIT stop on that writer one. I've always liked writing. And at most points in my life I've wanted to be a writer. Then I realized that while writing most things I was pretty bad. Things I Am Awful at Writing: Fiction, Essays, Serious Things. Things I Am Pretty Good Or Even Very Good At Writing: Non-fiction, Skewed Non-Fiction, News, Fake News, Non-Serious Things, Bad Essays. I am quite good at this fake-news thing- ala the Onion or Daily Show- and I did, for about a year, write a faux local newspaper called The Clarkston Courier for which I was quite famous for for a while. Even recently, some kids are still 'dude are you still writing that please start again'? It was weird. Oh gosh. Let me see if I can find any, my Greatest Hits as it were...err anyway. So the writing. And sometimes I get ideas I want to write or the notion of journalism but gawd I get so lazy. Anyway. All this leads to I recently had a very good idea for some sort of story and I am thinking about trying to write it, it's one of those things that gets into my head and won't get out, so I'm thinking of jotting stuff down and trying. Sort of Caroline B. Cooney-ish story, I think. I used to love her books.

AND ALSO MY AUNT IS AWESOME because today I came home from work all tiirrred and mom goes all slyly, "so your aunt called today.." and my aunt lives across the state, I haven't seen her in a year (yeah, since Kody graduated, more than a year) and so I was thinking it was something like she was coming to visit which would be awesome, but it was this "she said that you wanted to atten Clark Community College over there, you could live with her while doing so." OMG. So now I have a sort-of plan, which is to a) get a drivers license b) graduate c) attend Clark Community Colllege and get a job over there and most importantly GET OUT OF THIS ONE HORSE TOWN. Holy crap. I am not quite sure exactly what CCC teaches but the other school I was thinking about was Spokane Falls Community College and only that one because ah it had a bowling in it. Also my mom went there.

Hnn what else. Did I mention, nobody bothered to tell me and Heather that they're running out of money to pay us with and so this is our last week of work? Oh, yes. The guys who pay us, Rural Resources, (even though we work at the library) didn't tell us. But school starts in 3 weeks anyway so we'll have two weeks off before which I wanted to do anyway because I am honestly getting sick of working.

I don't really want to go back to school because mostly I am lazy and awful at school. ALSO. Sad thing. I have to get up early enough to do hair and clothes and get ready, etc, etc, so this means I will prolly NOT get to stay up late every night to watch Jimmy Fallon. I HEART JIMMY FALLON. Srsly. He's not that funny but goddamn, he tries, and his bits (sketches, skits) are funny, like Rush Limbaugh Karoake and 7th Floor West and Cell Phone Shootout and Obama Facial Expressions and oh god HEAD SWAP. On the bright side- Conan is on earlier then he was last year, so now I can watch him every night instead of Letterman who I used to watch every night. Which is probably why I failed my first hour class, since I stayed up later to watch Conan most nights. Also I love Andy Richter and Conan's not been very funny lately. Dunno why. It's not quite the same. I like Andy'll Try It and whenever his producer Jordan comes on and some other stuff but sometimes he's not very funny. Still love him though.

I am debating on whether or not to buy more shirts from Threadless. It's a sale and I REALLY like the Madness of Mission 6, a sweet Pacman-reference one, and the one that says I Liked Homework Better when It was Called Coloring. Or maybe Twenty if By Giant Robot. Which is weird and JUST MY STYLE because I hate robots but it's on dark grey I think and I don't really like dark grey but nor do I like white, which is what coloring>homework is on. Madness of Mission 6 is just pure awesome. And only 8 bucks. If I find another 8 buck one I like, maybe Magic is just stuff science hasn't made boring yet, which is purple and I has no purple shirts but I am not such a big fan of Shirts with Words since people stop you and read them and it's sort of awkward.

I'm waiting for Heather to get online so I can speak with her. WITH MAH NEW MIC for the internet speaking. Wth is she.

I've been watching this video on FunnyOrDie.com, the Ballad of GI Joe, which is hilarious and heart-breaking and awesome and now I know the whole motherfucking song because it is so awesome.
Weird thing about me: in the morning, when I am hurrying to get ready for work, I sing showtunes. Like. Into the Woods. Which is was in the junior production of in SEVENTH GRADE. I am now going into twelfth. Into the woods where nothing's clear, where witches ghosts and ghouls appear..da dada into the woods into the woods.

frightening

So it's my lunch break but I have to talk about this, this being one of the most frightening back covers of books I have ever seen: it was a Danielle Steel one, like Gran Dad or something weird like that, and okay, that's alright, but the back had this weird picture of her, Danielle Steel that is. She's wearing this sort of wrap around cape thing, and has one of her hand tucked under it so she kind of looks like she's doing the pregnant-woman-hand-on-belly thing but it's very strange. Above the photo there's : 400 Million Copies in Print or whatever, but below it is what scared me:
EVERYBODY READs DANIELLE STEEL
like holy shit, this is not ADVICE this is a COMMAND like READ DANIELLE STEEL OR DIE.

pathetic

It is almost sad that while shopping for t-shirts online, I have no idea what size to get unless I compare it to shirt.woot's sizing, because I know what sizes those are.
Also I am listening to the Dr. Horrible soundtrack and I know all the words. Still. BEST thing ever. Dr. Horrible.
Yesterday, went shopping: got pants (3), sweatshirt, jacket, harry potter candy, koolaid.
Now looking online for belts and apparently buttons and Firefly t-shirts. Then I'm gonna watch Firefly. And I did not notice the Firefly/Dr. Horrible connection. Nathan Fillion is brainwashing me. I think.
I keep getting distracted. BELTS I need belts. So far I've got two in my cart (on bodypunks.com), a tiger-striped canvas one and a (oh gosh, So They Say is my favorite Dr. Horrible song. Perfect Story. or Everyone's A Hero.) black and white one. I think that's good for now. And a David Bowie button. OR TWO DAVID BOWIE BUTTONS I cannot help it, he is delicious. I want the one where he a pirate. Pirate Bowie. With a eyepatch.
I'm really awful at shopping. IRL and online. IRL I get tired and lazy and very 'meh' and online I get distracted very easily--I should buy some yarrn...NO. BELTS.
Firelfy. Hulu. Okay. Loading... God. I cry when I watch Serenity. Joss Whedon is a god. I need to watch Buffy. Yes. I've never seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer. WTF is wrong with me. Shh. I'll watch it. BUT NOW NAO
OKAY BELTS. Two belts and two David Bowie buttons. Diamond Dogs Bowie and Changes Bowie. No wait. Just DD Bowie. Okay, belts ordered. here's hoping they fit and if they don't then bodypunks has a return policy which I should've checked BEFORE ordering but whatevs.

whee

I got paid today. And then I went for coffee at the Queen Bee(or is it Bean?) anyway, they were pretty delicious. And then we went to Alive After Five! where I quickly spent money. On bows and beef jerky. Heather came round and told me of her new computer, what she bought today, it sounds might nice for 1000 dollars (I am weak-willed and myself could not spend that much money at a time) , and then she bought a reverse katana and then we went to Station 3 for food (she: cheesecake, me and mom: jojos, and blake got a burger & fries) and then I went home and tripped over a crate in the dark and slammed my knee onto the steps so now my knee hurts.
And I've just bought 3 t-shirts online. 'Choose Wisely' from teextile, which, as a child of the nineties and who actually had that game, I had to have. And from Threadless, Attack of Literacy! and THIS is how the world ends, both of which i am suddenly too lazy to link to.

We are going shopping this weekend, so I will try to get some pants and a new belt and some boots and I should be good for school, school clothes-wise, and I'll look some up online. Clothes. I want plaid pants like crazy. And sweatervests. For over-t-shirt-wearing in cold weather and general dorkiness.

I'm not writing very well right now. Knee and tiredness and fatigue from spending money.
holdohn gotta change it to Conan
I like spending money and I'm very good at it, but it feels off like I shouldn't. Which is preposterous, because I should and can and it's mine and all, I just tend to waste it very well. Like err today. Did I really need bows and hair clips? Mebbe not. Or expensive but delicious beef jerky? Also er, possibly not.

I am so very tired and hope that magically I will have tomorrow off but it is unlikely.
Oh, I need an iPod.
Things I NEED, a list
1. Pants! For wearing, school, etc, etc.
2. A belt. I love the studded one I have now but there's a slight malfunction with it, in that when I sit down in plastic chairs, the studs grate against it and it doesn't sound pleasant but it does sound like a embaressing bodily function.
3. Boots. Punk/combat boots.
4. an iPod and lotsa music on it.
5. yarn for Doctor Who scarf.

So that's mostly it. And sweatervests. I am a dork and might as well dress like it. I wear those sunglasses that clip over regular glasses, for God's sake.

05 August 2009

good evening

It was thunder and lightning here about a half hour ago. I was standing outside on the sidewalk, watching it, but mom was all YOU WILL GET STRUCK BY LIGHTNIIING because she's afraid of lightning. I didn't but came inside anyway because it was very windy and I got some dust and stuff in my eyes.

Well about 8:40 I had got Mom convinced enough to go to Albertson's, not only because I had to return Dad's Redbox movie (The Soloist! which was good. We have this thing, in our family (well it's just me and Blake rly) where we refer to anything Robert Downey Jr acts in as 'it's Iron Man playing...' so and so, because he was so perfect as Iron Man that, really, everything is kinda an afterthought. Like. Sherlock Holmes, that RDJ is in, as Sherlock Holmes, we say it's Iron Man being Sherlock Holmes in Victorian times. Because that's pretty spot on if you've seen the Holmes preview.) but also because I wanted to get chicken wings and Blake was being very mind-reading cos he was like, let's go look at chicken wings and I was like GET OUT OF MY HEAD DEVIl-CHILD. As we were walking from the car to Albertson's, Blake whispers to me 'there's lightning' and I was all, 'oh fuck'. Mom's afraid of lightning, like uber afraid. So were all: Hey mom, look at that sign right there. Albertson's has cut prices! Yep, just keep looking at that sign until we get inside..but as we left the store, there was lightning totally unobvious and she freaked out but we got home safely.

I just saw a Miley Cyrus commercial where she shows off her new "fashion" line at Wal-Mart and it's awful stuff, for some reason it has the UK Flag on it? like thanks for butchering out culture, now go ruin the Brit's flag? Good lord. I felt like, literally, throwing up. And I reallyyy hate Wal-Mart. And I don't want it in our town. Cos they are evil.

I am loading episodes on Youtube of Queer As Folk the US version right now cos I watched one of the UK version and it was pretty damned good, but the UK version is on Hulu and Hulu is slow and has commercials.

Anyway alright. Alive After Five tomorrow. Been looking forward to it for weeks. It's weird how much I like this. This quote from Clerks basically sums me up: But you hate people! Yet I love social gatherings. It's ironic.

I have this continual fear that bugs are crawling all over me. I never sleep well with this paranoia. Am I spelling paranoi right? I don't give a damn.

03 August 2009

feels like friday

Because I'm at my dad's because of we're not going next weekend since he's going to a concert in Montana. Dunno. So it feels like Friday. But it's Monday.
I'm listening to music on Grooveshark, there's this playlist 'Punk Rock'. A lot of the song titles are kickass but the music is sometimes bad. Srsly. The titles, man. 'You Look Like I Need A Drink' is an awesome title. Screaming Theatre in a Crowded Fire. There's a band what covered Rocket Man awesomely. And I've been listening to some Jarvis Cocker. He was on Fallon the other night and I had to stay up to watch him, despite the fact I could not remember if he was the guy from the band who sang Common People. Yes. and it was Pulp. Cos I forgot the name. Anyway. He's brilliant. Whatelse.
Gosh, nothing, I think. I'm not wearing my glasses so everything is Blurry As Hell. Even the computer screen and that's not too far away.

On Sunday I watched a lot of movies. At 1:00 in the morning, Clerks 2 came on Comedy Central, completely unedited, so it was awesome. Later, I watched Clerks online. And then I rented My Name is Bruce and some shitty Iron Man animated thing, the Invincible Iron Man. Also I had purchased the Boondock Saints at St. Vinny's. Amazing find. Holy shit, that movie was good. In so many ways. Arghh. I just want to keep watching it. 's weird. I like My Name is Bruce, simply for Bruce Campbell Being An Asshole All The Time in the movie. Ahaha. Love him. Kevin Smith, from Clerks movies, is a genius and now I need to go watch everything else he's ever done. FUCK and he writes Green Arrow comics. How badass is that?

I left my notebook at home. Which is too bad because I had like 3 lists of music I wanted to listen to and a few movie/tv lists.

MY EYE is TWITCHY and last night I thought there was a bug in my eyelid but I think it's just twitchy but HOW WEIRD would it be if there was ABUG in my eyelid. EW.
fuckfuckfuckinghell. Boondock Saints said 'fuck' like 256 times. I tell you, this is what I look for in a movie. going to go okay sims and then maybe update mah sims blog.
